Q: I recently asked a question about recommended ETF holdings in my RRSP for coverage of the US market. You had suggested converting my holdings to USD and purchase VOO direct on the US market rather than the CAD ETFs I currently hold. This would eliminate withholding taxes.
How much of a drag on performance would these withholding taxes represent?

Q: Hi! I have an ETF portfolio and a portfolio of Canadian and U.S. stocks. I have 10% of my ETF portfolio in Fixed Income given the historically low interest rates. This accounts for about 5% of my overall portfolio which is pretty low. Difficult to add here. I have some XHY and CBO which offset the risks of rising rates somewhat. Should I add to my fixed income portfolio or wait for rates to rise a bit. If I do add, rate reset preferred might be another option or continue adding to CBO and XHY?

Thank you,
Jason

Q: Thanks for your help with my Sept 3/21 question regarding MFC vs BNS-TD. You gave me the answer I needed...thanks.

However, in your answer you indicated the BNS P/CF was 7x and the P/E was 10x.

When I look on the Company Profile page , I see P/CF of 2.2 and P/E of 12.4.
Please explain the difference...are the numbers from different sources?

Thanks...Steve

Q: Apparently I am not overly observant because I just realized my WSP has gone from the income stock I first purchased to a growth stock. As a result of the share price going up four-fold while the dividend remained the same I am now sitting on a big capital gain and an outsized position with a relatively low yield. In your income portfolio it sticks out for the same reason, contributing a huge “since inception” return but low yield. I would like to at least reduce it and put the funds to work in another industrial with higher yield but can’t land on anything. I want to like MAL but of course it is much smaller cap. Any suggestions? What would you replace it with in the Income Portfolio if you were so inclined?
