Q: Fully agree with your comment on Downside Risk Exposure. So important to understand and track!!! The problem for me is finding a free fee site to get this data or info. Would calculate it myself but it is difficult to do. With that in mind, I track the changes in the 52 week high and low and also the % change, just as an indicator. But you know of a web site that is free of fees to track the downside risk exposure of stocks???.....Tom

Q: Hi I am 40 years old. I currently pay into a pension and am scheduled to retire in 2040. I have mostly been growth focused throughout my entire portfolio and am wondering when I should begin to consider a more balanced style. Ie income vs growth. Just to limit any risks. Thanks for any advice

Q: Hello,

IMO the strike/lockout seems to be priced in and news about deadlines seem to be noise rather than anything substantive.

Given the potential impact of this on Canada business, in your opinion what are the critical incidents that would trigger a decline or spike - duration of either strike/lockout, back to work legislation. There really is no other viable alternative to rail so the country is over a barrel.

Thank you

Q: Hello,
I am going to finally bail on AQN, which has dropped to around a 1% position; my other "utilities" are BEP.UN at 4.5% and BIP.UN at 5.8%.
The easies thing to do is to split the proceeds between the Brookfields.
Do you see an issue wit that concentration, or should I consider starting a new position on something like FTS or H for the sector?
Thanks as always.

Q: When members ask questions regarding buying a stock, often a distinction is made between starting a position or adding to a position. eg. would add to an existing position but not start a position.
What is the distinction between these two ideas?

Q: Do you have any recommendations for companies, U.S. or Canadian, that demonstrate good technologies involved in energy storage and smarter distribution systems. Any market cap is fine but fundamentals should be decent. Thanks.

Q: What is your take on ATD's announced "preliminary" offer for 7-11? The market seemed to not react to this. Some time ago they contemplated a large deal to purchase Total. That was not well received and it eventually did not go forward. If the 7-11 goes ahead, what impact will there be on the share price for ATD? Would they have to take on a lot of debt or issue a large amount of shares? Many thanks

Q: Hi there, may I please have your thoughts on PEY results?

What companies are you finding interesting right now, after their 2Q results?

Any companies unjustifiably being punished, with their shares being sold off currently, that you believe is not justified and will have a good bounce within the next six months or so? ie; seems like WELL results are being misunderstood...hmm

Thanks!
