Q: 9 days ago Power Corporation declared EPS of 0.90, 18% above the consensus. Since then it's in a strong downtrend. These days it's the stocks that miss earnings that get punished. It's now below the 50 day MA. Over the last 15 days, on down days, the volume was average so it's not weak volume. The stock is cheap and pays a dividend of 4.1%. Out of all my holdings, this one makes the least sense. Can you dig into the earnings to help me find what BayStreet didn't like? It must be more than the weak market. If there's nothing, can you share anything in the technicals I may have missed? Thanks!

Q: Power Corporation just raised their dividend by 7%. It's the first time since 2009 they raise their dividend. I've held the stock for over a year and I enjoy how safe it feels. It doesn't seem to get much interest because of its low growth. What do you think of the earnings? Do you expect the stock to move up or should I expect the same capital return of the last 12 months?

Q: Hi: one of the speakers at market call at BNN suggested that the POW could spin out some of the core assets to benefit the shareholders, but the other company PWF (power financial) would not benefit from the move. It is a speculation
It would be appreciated if you could explain to the investors like us what is the main differences and advantages of holding PWF vs POW ? I have some shares of PWF, should I switch 50% to POW ? Thanks!

Q: Hi 5i team
I have held Power Corp (POW) in my retirement account since Jan/94. It is now trading at about the same price as it did in Jan/09 and the dividend has not increased in at least 5 years. Would you consider still holding this stock and if not what would you recommend that has a similar dividend but is not in the financial sector? Thanks.
