Q: What are your top buys (3) right now if you were investing in a mix of growth, quality, and somewhat reasonable valuation? With your answer/explanation can you include fwd p/e or whatever relevant metrics vs peers?
Also, what's a quality stock or two you'd like to buy but would want to see come down a bit/something you'd be looking to pick up in a broad market selloff?

Q: Wanting to sell one of these to deploy cash to deploy elsewhere. Which of these two has the best pathway forward for a 2 to 3 year hold and which might you recommend to sell and why? Thank you.
Q: I've held this stock for the longest time and it keeps going down ? I'm now down 28 % ! I've recently heard that they might be cutting their dividend and I'm not sure that I should keep hanging on ? What say you, sell or hold ?
Q: So I've started to travel solo more (thank you divorce) and I've booked 2 different Airbnb at 2 different cities (Montreal, and Nashville). Both were excellently operated remotely and great value by a company named Sonder.
They appear to want to be a premier 5 star Airbnb chain. I saw the hotel run by them in Nashville and booked immediately- so they already have my consumer loyalty.
I looked them up and they're trading on the NASDAQ but at massive lows.
No one here has asked a question about this company, but it looks like a hold at $3 a share (from a high of $200...)
I am not an analyst- what are your thoughts on this company, future estimates for growth. I am guessing they are a victim of high finance rates hitting their profit margins - but then again,, who isn't.
Regards,
Jeff

Q: A dividend account, BCE down 16,%, BIP.Un down 14.5%, BEPC down 23%, DOO down 23% as well. Also own BN and BAM. Brookfield entities are 17% of the portfolio.
Do I sell my losers, knowing they're suffering from higher interest rates or simply stay patient?
Do you see concentration risk ? How high would you let the Brookfield entities run? I think DOO is a good firm but it could go. Please deduct questions as you see fit. Thank you in advance. David

Q: Hi 5i
Is there anything too concerning with the latest release ? Would you consider this a "Hold and wait for improved conditions" or ... ?
Thanks

My 30 y/o son will be transferring funds currently held at his bank. (TSFA , RESP, RRSP accounts) He is looking for long term investments options.
We as grand parents have started a RESP for each of the grandchildren. Looking after their first year RESP contributions. Currently invested in HXS and a small VFV position.
Can you please give some options for :
RRSP
RESP
TSFA
Thank you
Gord

ATS Corporation (ATS $42.28)
-
TerraVest Industries Inc. (TVK $163.77)
-
Boyd Group Services Inc. (BYD $212.82)
Q: Hi 5i team. Your thoughts on switching ATS for either BYD or TVK. Looking for growth over extended time frame in a non registered account. Worry about the recent run up of BYD and TVK and wondering if I should wait for a pull back or if I should just stay the course after ATS pull back. Not looking to add another position in my already heavy industrial holdings.
Thank you
Thank you
Q: Recently, you answeed a question about semis "We think the sector is likely safe for 6 months or so." Could you elaborate on what could go right/ wrong, what you are looking for to signal a drop, and how you would play the sector.
Thanks

Q: Typical scenario where I was at a party and a guy recommended this mining stock based on their second mine in Mexico starting full production in the near future. Has your view on this company softened any?

Hammond Power Solutions Inc. Class A Subordinate Voting Shares (HPS.A $129.94)
-
Powell Industries Inc. (POWL $220.91)
Q: Not a question, but a comment. And not sure if it’s relevant or not.
I’ve been involved in the electrical industry for 35+ years and have been aware of Hammond from a users perspective for much of that time. They’re noted for having good equipment, debatably the Honda or Toyota of relatively small dry type electromagnetic gizmos. Not the least expensive, but good value. It’s reliable, available, and therefore rather ubiquitous in industrial electrical rooms. I own the company not only because of your endorsement but because I like their products.
Similar comment with Powell. Pretty good equipment from a technical perspective and reasonably priced. Good innovators and flexible offerings. They seem to be winning lots of fully evaluated tenders.
One last comment. If privately-owned Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Inc. ever goes public, consider buying. Fabulous relays and communication equipment for the utility and industrial power system space, and exceptional service.

Q: Hi 5i. on SMCI
In a previous answer you said "It will do its thing and find a 'level' (whatever that might be) where volatility starts to abate."
Could you hazard a guess at what that 'level' might be - just for fun of course.
On a slightly more serious note - do you think momentum will drive this UP or DOWN in the short term (days/weeks) (and how about 3-5 years) ?
Thanks

Q: SHOP Been a shareholder since it was $15.00 and as I understand Shopify focus is on personal clients, and although different from Amazon platform, which seems to conflict with Amazons over objective. I recently understand that Amazon "Jeff" has recently redeemed a large amount of shares. I am wondering if he is planning a takeover of Shopify. What are 5I thoughts on this and could it happen?
Q: What inning are each of these companies in (in terms of total return for an investor buying today), and are they both appropriate for a 3-5 year holding period?
Thank you
Thank you
