Q: I need to diversify outside of Canada, although I do have some individual US stocks.
1)What markets do you think will be the best - least volatile, some growth - over the next five years?
2) Can you recommend two etfs within those categories?

Q: Is there a short term money ETF that trades in the US that also trades in CDN that can be used to transfer money back and forth? I am thinking of ETFs like PSA in Canada or FLOT in US.

Q: I hear that Barrick Gold might be interested in purchasing a gold company in Canada which produces at least 500,000 ounces of gold yearly. Do you think that Kirkland Lake Gold might be a candidate for a takeover by Barrick Gold? KL seems to fill all of Barrick's requirements. What are your feelings on such a takeover? Tnx

Q: My wife and I have approximately $200k in our TFSA. I wanted to purchase 10 high growth stocks ( equal amounts). The following is the list I had in mind: kxs, pbh, pho, sis, toy, tsgi, tfii, gc, otex, byd-un. Would you delete or add any company to this list? Time frame is 5 years. Thank you.

Q: I recently purchased FTN .to (Financial Split Shares Corp) as the NAV dropped below $15.00, the dividend was cancelled, and the share price dropped to $3.50 The NAV was $14.45 at Dec 31. Since Jan 2 the US and Canadian bank stocks have started a bit of a recovery and it seems like it wont take too much to regain the $15.00 NAV and dividend reinstatement.
What is your outlook for Canadian and US banks for the coming year and am I treading on thin ice here?? I know you aren't a particular fan of split shares, but it seems like there would be some nice capital gains and dividend if the NAV does go back over $15.
Thank you so much for your valued opinion.

Q: Both appear to be solid performers over time...which of these two would you buy today and for what reasons? Are they different enough that one could buy both without being in the same niche?
