Q: Upstart has been extremely hot lately. Its up about 45% in a week; and up 11% today alone. all on pretty good volume. Do you have any idea what could be causing this sudden surge in the share price? No complaints, mind you, just trying to understand what is going on....
I know you like TEAM and have been holding for a while (Thanks!). However, I'm beginning to worry that with CRM bulking up and trying to compete with MSFT in the enterprise collaboration space, that TEAM will start falling behind. Especially, as the other two do more and more acquisitions and bundling. Do you think that will be the case or do you think TEAM has still got good growth? I currently hold TEAM and MSFT. Should I continue to hold TEAM or maybe swap it out for CRM? (I also have ADBE and VEEV if that make any difference).
Q: Hi team,
This company is very successful in the percentage of drilled wells, has paid of a large portion of it's debt, pays a healthy 6.2% dividend and is now being recommended as a very undervalued play by Motley fool, but who is being "fooled" as the stock price languishes? Would you recommend entering at this price for a two to three year hold?
Many thanks,
Jean
Q: In light of the expected recovery and the need to get goods and materials to the users and markets I am wondering what your opinion would be with regards to investing in transportation companies and if you feel this is a viable area to invest in, what companies would be a top investment and is there an EFT that may also be a consideration.
Q: Given the recent purchase of People Corporation, i am not aware of any listed small/microcap benefit or HR admin firms. Can you suggest alternatives or are we limited to the PAYX and Morneau Sobecos?
Q: I'm curious about BRK. Is Berkshire kind of like an etf? Is the value of its stock the equal to its underlying investments minus a management fee? Or does the market arrive at its stock value based on some kind of discounted cash flow analysis. Are all its investments publicly disclosed?
Q: Would you consider this a play on things getting back to normal here in Canada? Your views on this fund and outlook for next 3-5 years. I quite like the Brands, so may be a bit biased.
I have some play money in my cash account, I'm looking at purchasing 2 or 3 small caps or stocks around $1 in price (or under). Can you give me your top 5 Canadian companies that you think have the greatest upside over the next few years. I will take a look and pick the ones I think will work out best. Thanks again.
Q: What do you think of this holding company and portfolio of investments? Comments on recent earnings? I see some metrics that catch my eye, low p/e, trading below book, some insider buying, increasing revenue.....could you please comment on these and any others you might think would be important. I have a small position and it's down slightly and I'm thinking of averaging down, would you consider it a buy, hold or sell at this point?
Q: Could I get your thoughts on Methanex. After a surge at the end of the year it has fallen off. I thought, like other material stocks, it would be a good recovery play
Q: Is it a good time to buy any of these growth e commerce companies as prices have come off and may have high growth rates in the future. If so which would be the best one to buy from a risk reward perspective.
We have GOOGL and AMZN are in our TFSA's but they are too expensive to add and we do not want to sell. We are retiring and will not have excess funds to add to these positions in a TFSA.
Can you recommend an ETF that has high content of Goog (15%+) and AMZN 10%+) that can be purchased in an RRSP? We do not need AAPL and MSFT as we have VGT?
The other option is may be to purchase GOOGL and AMZN in our USD RRSP though we would prefer an ETF for diversification.
