Q: Hello
I just read about the tariffs applied to P&G more specifically the toilet paper they sell here in Canada.
I assume that if P&G up the price of Charmen TP in Canada then KPT will follow and hike the price of its Casmere TP. Thus increasing their margins.
Do you think this development is ''material''for KPT?
Thanks
Stephane

Q: GUD is up almost 10% in the past week or so. I see no news, I think its a head fake.
I've been out of the stock since $9.5 and have a limit order to buy at $7.50. What do you think?

Q: Today Gsy had a press release that indicated it was going to issue more unsecured debt for corporate purposes..
It also released a hint of what its earnings release on August 7 will contain.
Positive numbers.
The stock moved up 2 dollars
Question: is it common for a company to issue a " hint" of its earnings almost a month prior to the official release .i have only seen this before when a company was under a short attack

Q: As a follow-up to Larry's question on July 10, which pre-supposed my own, I had one more point: I am looking for two companies which will need to be cashed out in 2 years. Do these two fit the bill, or would you recommend something else? Just looking for growth. Dividend not important. Feel free to suggest two others which might have more bang for the bucks. Sectors not important, as I'm well-diversified and comfortable with present portfolio, thanks to 5I of course. : )
These two new positions would be "mad money" undertakings. Thanks.

Great-West Lifeco Inc. (GWO $54.63)
-
Power Financial Corporation (PWF $36.31)
-
Power Corporation of Canada Subordinate Voting Shares (POW $58.68)
Q: I know that these 3 are intimately linked. I am wondering the advantages and disadvantages of each. As far as dividends and dividend growth, they rank PWF, POW, GWO (decreasing).
I am trying to chose one, but unsure which is better. Could you please outline the pros and cons of each?

Q: Sorry my last question was not quite clear. As it pertains to the balanced portfolio, and MX was taken over, what would you replace it with today?
Q: Could I get your thoughts on Broadcom’s recent acquisition? The stock is taking a hit, would you hang on for the long term or sell to avoid further loss?
Q: Despite the odd choice for a name is this a good buy at these prices? It does very little trading but the holdings seem on the surface seem to be sound.
Thank you. H.

Q: Your comments, negative & positive, on the take over of 29M shares of TSIG by CVC Fund V would be appreciated. With shares of TSIG now down $1.11 the market does not seem to like this deal.
Thanks

Q: What do you make of the recent announcement on Sedar (July 3rd) regarding Michael Wekerle's acquisition of more shares in Mogo? Can anything be read into this purchase? I suppose he's either expecting the stock to go up for some reason or is positioning himself to take over the company (if that is even a realistic possibility, which I don't know). I would be interested in your comments. Thanks as always.
Q: Can you explain why Fortis shows a negative free cash flow, and how this relates to its dividend? Is it because they have long term contracts in place, so they are able to predict further cash flows? When I compare it to Canadian Utilites, their free cash flow is positive. I feel like I’m missing something with Fortis.
Q: A recent BNN interview appeared to suggest that ecn had or was becoming a facilitator of finance rather than engaging in direct exposure to the finance obligations, collecting fees for arranging the engagement, and the TD notes on this Co indicate that it is becoming an originator and asset manager, which to me seems to indicate a similar strategy. Would this not make ecn more economically sensitive to the sectors it participated in and less affected by the passage of interest rates and how would this affect your appraisal of ECN?
Q: From time to time I like to refer back to replies to certain miscellaneous questions. It would be nice if 5i had a feature that allowed members to save questions.
Q: I would expect hydro one to sell off today. Do you think it is a buy at his time and how much of a discount from yesterday's close should one pay given the uncertainty that will exist in the short term? This would be held by a retired person in an income Rrsp account. Thank you.
