Q: Peter and His Wonder Team
I own GMP. I guess this consolidation means that my share count will be cut in half. Management says that this consolidation is a great move. However the stock is crashing. Please give your assessment of this and what I might expect as a share holder going forward. Thanks!

Q: Hello Peter,
What are your thoughts on GMP Capital? I have lost more than 50% on the stock since I bought it. The company does seem to be doing fine as it gives out special dividends and with recent takeovers of other related companies, I thought GMP would gain traction but it has not moved up much. Yangarra resources has lost lots of its value but mostly due to the sector issues. A few questions please:
i. Understanding that both companies are in different sectors, do you think Yangarra has higher chance of increasing in stock price then GMP
ii. Given our current policies on energy and pipelines, do you see the oil sector recovering anytime soon as i was thinking of putting monies in other companies like Tourmanline etc
thanks very much

Q: I am retired and own GMP Capital preferred series B in a non-registered account for income. How safe do you think the dividend is? I was encouraged when they recently re-instated the dividend on the common shares, suggesting management confidence in ongoing profitability, yet the pref B price continues to trend lower. Why?

Q: Are there any issues with purchasing a company just to capture the special dividend then selling it afterwards. GMP released good results and I would expect that holding it for just a short time is a low risk to my capital. I prefer to be in much larger dividend payers however the special dividend is compelling.
