Q: I am finally planing to sell the stocks above. and replace them with a 5% of Telus, Qualcom Great Canadian gaming and Brookfield Asset Man. for a 2-3 year plan.

Q: Hi Guys,
I submitted this question last week so not sure if it didn't go through or just got lost in the shuffle. The question is as follows: I am concerned about the oil and gas industry going into a prolonged down pricing environment. Can you rank these companies in terms of balance sheet strength and their ability to withstand a prolonged downturn? Can you also speak on if any of these would be in significant financial trouble (e.g. - bankruptcy) over a prolonged downturn?

Q: HELLO I bought the subscription rights (ALA.r) when you advised so I’ve taken a bath, just wondering if i use it for a tax loss and buy SPB and/or CSU or anything else that you might advise to retrieve/decrease my loss. Q: Hi Peter and Ryan: Thanks so much for your calming responses to the current volatility in the markets. This is my third time through a downturn since retiring in 2000. It isn't much fun, but intellectually I know that the market doesn't go constantly down as well as it doesn't go constantly up. Your well thought out reasons helps to remind me of this.
My first question is: in what sector do you place Csh.un.? It works best for me in Income Trusts, as that is why I have it. The TSX places it in Real Estate.
My second question is; is this a good time to purchase an ETF such as VEE and or FEZ? I am overweight in Canada and the U.S. and underweight in Emerging markets and Europe.

I want to make a longterm buy in tire stock because I think tires will continue to be needed no matter type of car gas or electric. I was considering cooper or goodyear. Q: We have been long term holders of keyera and still in a positive position but sliding fast would you continue to hold or just sell?

Q: I am looking for a gov't bond etf /fund to hedge away some equity risk. Can you recommend a liquid gov't bond etf for US treasuries?

I would also be interested in a similar version for Can gov't bonds, if you thought it would produce similar results.

Currency is not an issue.

Q: In the preferred share space I own both cpd and Ecn.pr.a. I am down a fair amount on both. Does the market really affect prefs that much. I bought because of the reset feature . Assuming higher interest rates the reset rate would be higher. No indication yet of falling rates in which case I would sell CPD and take my losses. On the other hand minimum rate reset preferred guarantees a specific rate protection on falling interest rates while at the same time having a possible increase in the reset rate if interest rates rise. Looks to me the best of both worlds. My investment is for income. Final question , will price go back to par on reset date.
Can one expect the the closer to reset the closer the value will be to par.

Q: How will the close of The GM plant in Oshawa affect Magna ? Is it just redirecting parts supply to another plant or is it a real cost / slash of revenues ?

Q: I know you removed Pivot (PTG) from your Growth Portfolio several months ago to redeploy into a stock offering better potential. It seems to have bottomed out around the $1.00 area during this current bout of volatility/tax loss selling and has now risen to $1.29 area. Looks like the tax loss selling may have concluded for this stock ? Are vale investors stepping in ? Can I get your opinion of this company and its potential moving forward.
