Q: Can you tell us your top 3 companies in the world that you would buy if valuation was not important. What i'm looking for is your favorite 3 companies that have too high of a valuation right now but if they pull back further they would be a definite buy? Thx

Q: In a response a couple of weeks ago you briefly compared GSY and OMF. You indicated that you "consider these two solid for those interested in playing the debt theme". Do you feel any differently now.?
Since neither company rely on customer deposits, is there any reason why OMF has fallen so much more in the last week other than being in the financial business in the US?
How much has the risk changed for investors, compared to GSY? With the big drop in price and corresponding rise in yield  (11.8%) do you see OMF more compelling to start a position mostly for income and some growth? 
Lastly, which other high quality small to mid size US companies in other sectors would you consider if the goal was mostly income?

Q: I have the stocks in RRIF and CIX in TFSA.Do you have any news concerning CIX ventures in US and the Canadian taking the debts. Is it a concern my breakeven is 15.50, Gold seem to be climbing well with bank turmoil in US.All this debt will have to be repaid to gov't entities eventually. Can US still avoid a recession with all these problems.Gold has moved quite a lot in last week.What does 5i globe see in the future for gold

Q: Hi, Energy sector has witnessed a sharp sell off last week, with market and decline in Oil prices. Recession worries seem to be growing higher and with ECB sticking to 0.50% rate hike, market seems to be expecting Fed to stay course with its hawkish stance, despite recent turbulence in banking sector. Some large Energy traders are reported to have lightened their positions significantly, early in the week. We as well as most of 5i members are simple retail buy and hold investors and do not have access to advanced tools/money flow and other expertise.

With the recent market backdrop in the sector, and Oil/NG prices flirting with new lows, has your view, in terms of maintaining about 10% weighing in the sector, changed ? Or, do you believe that market concerns are of short term in nature and there is value and a strong case to remain invested in the sector for say, at least 12-24 months ?

Mr. John O'Connell of Davis Rea was on BNN, warning viewers to stay away from the Energy sector, claiming that cost of production of most companies is higher than current prices. (which appears to be a questionable claim). On the other end, there is Mr Eric Nuttal, an expert in the sector with $2 Bln AUM, with completely opposite views.

Q: Hello - just wondering if you can shine a light on what the Cdn banks do with excess capital? I'm aware our banks are more regulated and conservative than their US counterparts, but given the asset/liability mismatch of SVB holding long treasuries with deposit money - I'm wondering if what Cdn Banks do with their deposits is regulated and what the big 6 are doing with that capital in gerneral. Q: Hello 5i Could you comment on your opinion as the the takeover of Yamana. The take over is expected to take place by the end of March /23. There are 2 options 1 is to sell into the market or 2 take the cash and shares in the 2 takeover companies. The price of gold seems to be on the rise. Therefore if a person chose the shares they may rise in value from the takeover date.

Q: Hi team,
I can’t get over why BN is selling off so much. I have listened to their conference calls, scrolled through their investor presentations and letters to investors. The quality hard assets they are owning seem rock solid with steady predictable cash flow. They seem to own the quality hard assets that keep the world going . I like that they are also very in tune as to where the new money is being allocated on a global scale (such as new global investments in green energy ). They really seem like top quality operators and remind me of Berkshire. I don’t see where they are tied to risk with this latest bank crisis that would tie them up to the selloff . They advertise 175 billion of available investment capital. Yet their market cap only shows 61 billion according to my brokerage. It amazes me like a risk asset like bitcoin is being bought up today even thought it’s mostly the crypto banks that are having issues and are most tied to this failure of Svb and such . You would think stocks like Bn and Berkshire should be flocked to as a safe haven but it don’t seem that way. Anyways ; rant over. What am I missing something ? In my eyes for a long term investor this seems like a great time to buy BN shares being almost cut in half from its high? Do you agree?
