Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: I own all the various Brookfield entities on the US side of my TD Waterhouse accounts. I did this to ensure I receive the USD dividends without paying exchange fees to convert them to CDN. Recent Q&As have confused me:
- are there instances where the currency conversion still happens even though the stocks are held on the USD side?
- if so, how do I avoid that
- can you confirm what the current yield is for each Brookfield entity and if its paid in USD or CDN

Thanks

Q: TLT has recently announced promising results for Rutherin, the molecule it is testing. E.g. "Enhanced Tumor Destruction: Radiation-activated Rutherrin® achieved a 100-fold increase in cancer cell kill versus radiation therapy alone." But it is tiny, with a multi-year path to final results and depends on raising further capital. How can an investor assess companies like this, and what is your opinion of TLT re getting an investment toe in the door?

Q: Hi team,
I own LMN and TOI but not CSU. With the recent weakness in the group would you see it a better move to sell both LMN and TOI to consolidate into the larger CSU? Or would you continue to view LMN/TOI as having more long term upside compared to CSU due to their smaller size and still safe to hold the smaller spin offs? I won't need the funds for a decade or so at least.

Thanks,
Shane.
