Q: Hi,
I do not understand why you include BEP.UN in your income portfolio.
This is what I read on Disnat :
P/E Ratio 145.27
Earnings/Share $ 0.26
Dividend/Share $ 1.66
The income is great, but the payout ratio seems unsustainable. Is the capital safe? Can you comment?
Thanks

Q: Good Morning
RNW has taken a significant hit this week. What is the teams view of this setback and would you still see RNW as a good buy?
Thanks to all.

Q: Could I get your opinion please on Keyera's 2Q earnings. They sound good, and include a 9% dividend increase, however the EPS is down which seems to be affected by a number of non-cash charges. This always worries me. Thx Scott
Q: Hi
I am looking into getting into the stock market. I have invested in stocks in the past but currently don't hold any stocks. I'm 25 years old, have a long term horizon and a medium high risk tolerance,
I have about 10K to start investing with and am looking for the best way to diversify and also get into the stock market again. I hold GICs already.
I was thinking about starting off with the stocks in the balanced portfolio and from there (as i am able to save some more money) pick a few other key names,
What is your opinion of this idea, do you think if I start with those stocks in the balanced portfolio at the current prices is that a good start?
Thanks
Chris

Q: Another article on PHM in the Globe and Mail and again you've provided a negative quote which they've included. I'm dissapointed that you are adding to the negative sentiment on this stock which is in your growth portfolio and which many of your members have purchased, especially when the fundamentals of the company are still good.
Q: Comments on their results please? Thanks
Q: For someone who needs income to live on in retirement, does it really matter whether you own dividend stocks or growth stocks? I have heard proponents of both, but some say that whether a company pays out dividends to shareholders or reinvests for growth, the long term return to the shareholder is similar. Is it just a matter of higher volitility for growth stocks, but the end result is the same?
Thanks,
Thanks,
Q: I cannot find any information on Home Capital's site about the geographical breakdown of their mortgages. Finally I found a Seeking Alpha article suggesting that about 3% of their loans are oil patch related and that the majority of their loans are in Southern Ontario and in the GTA specifically. Is this correct and where might this information come from so I can get more detail? Thank-you.
Q: Are you there, Peter? Its me, John.
Sorry, I had to start off with the Judy Blume reference for a laugh to prevent myself from crying over High Liner's quarterly results. Did you get a chance to listen to HLF's conference call? If so, any further insights?
Do you see anything in the report that potentially jeopardizes the business, or was it simply just a bad quarter. I have held HLF for years now and am use to them missing estimates (5 out of the last 6 reports have missed) but cant remember a time when you started an answer with "yikes", as you did with the last HLF question,(LOL).
Lastly, do you think there was any use for High Liner management to halt the stock for three minutes before issuing the earnings report?
Thanks, again. Looking forward to resubscribing with 5i soon.

Q: I was told that surge energy was offered $5 per share by a major oil company just recently but declined the offer. Do you know of any other info. about surge at this time. I will continue to hold my shares I think.
Thx Blake

Q: Is there a particular reason why Silver Standard Resources (SSO) has held up quite well compared to the rest of the sector? The same goes with Franco Nevada (FNV). What attributes have saved them from the slaughter?
Q: Do you believe Bellatrix will survive given their assets, operations and the current oil price environment? Thanks.
Q: Hello Peter & Co,
(1) It seems to me that Air Boss would fit in the Industrials sector; does it?
(2) I have no exposure to the Patient Mobility business (Health); do you have a preference?
Thanks,
Antoine

Q: Good Morning 5i Team:
I currently hold some IT, as I think it will perform well during a deflationary/recessionary time.
I have heard the issues AYA are having with the investigation.
What relationship do those AYA rumours have on IT? How do you feel about an investment in IT?
Thank you!
