Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Hello Peter and Team,

Cloudera just had another earnings beat quarter. Do you think that this may be a good buying opportunity, now that the buyout of Hortonworks appears to be integrated and the chart is starting to move in the right direction? Relative to other cloud companies, doesn't it seem inexpensive?

Thanks.

Q: Good Afternoon,
Any thoughts on the pros and cons of owning a physical Gold Trust (PHYS) to hold in your brokerage account or actual gold bars stored in a secure vault somewhere? I suppose the obvious would be you can easily see and track the PHYS daily in your account and provide instant liquidity if one chooses to sell. I know you have to be careful with some Gold ETf's and products out there that don't really have the gold to back the paper but that is not the case for PHYS. Do you see any benefit in purchasing actual gold bars? Insurance & storage costs, illiquid and not easy access would be strikes against holding the physical metal.
Any thoughts on this?
Thank-you

Q: Good Morning:
In a well diversified portfolio I have above "growth" stocks at 1.5-2.5% weighting in my TFSA. They've all performed the same either slightly down or flat and was wondering if you would add to, hold or sell any of these for long term hold.
Thanks For any advice.

Q: According to 5I or your data supplier NFI is classified as Consumer Cyclical, my sense is that it should be Industrial, not? If NFI is miss classified than I would just add it to my industrial weight.
Having said that, I need to reduce my cyclical exposure to meet our Portfolio Analysis. Of the 3 companies listed if you were to keep one for 3-5 years which would you keep?
What would be your top 2 recommendations for Consumer defensive stock for 3-5 years hold. I currently own ATD and PBH. I can add to them or add a new name regardless.
Deduct as many credits suitable.

Thank you for your clear explanations on all topics and your excellent service.

Q: How seriously should we take the Canadian banks when they all increase their year-end loan loss provisions significantly? Is this really a harbinger of a slowing economy or am I being too cynical to think that this is a good way for management to build in some "wiggle room" going into the new year? Loan loss provisions are the one area management can use to massage headline numbers and perhaps boost profits next year if results are not so good.

Appreciate your insight.
