Q: Hello 5i,
I own all the above stocks and have ridden them up and down in this market, so my risk tolerance is fairly high.
Could rank them for future growth and survivability? Also, If I were to consolidate the five into two or three what might you recommend?
Thank you
Dave

Q: I sold above today as part of tax loss harvesting. What would be good substitutes for them if I still want exposure to these markets (my cash position is in US dollars). Or would you recommend waiting out 30 days to repurchase VEU and VWO?
Q: Why did CDE fall 9% today (Friday Nov 11th)? Would you recommend owning this? Between CDE and HL, which one would you prefer and why?

Q: Hello,
I need to sell approximately $100,000 from my Unregistered account. I am trying to hold off as long as possible. Looking for your suggestions on which of the listed ETF's I should sell or should I sell a certain percentage from each one given where the market is now and where it might be going? If Industrials or Health care, etc. are projected to go higher then I obviously want to sell out from some other sectors.
Thanks for your great service. It was much easier to stay the course with my diversified portfolio and Portfolio Analytics keeping me on track.

Hamilton Enhanced Canadian Bank ETF (HCAL)
Q: The financials segment of my RRIF consists of BMO, BNS, RY with a 25 % total portfolio weighting.
I am looking at selling the 3 and replacing them with HCAL. Believing in the long term growth and security of the Canadian banks , I see this move as providing both higher stock price movement with its 1.25 leverage and higher dividend yield. I see the disadvantages being a nearly 1.00 % MER and greater lose potential in a falling market.
Am I missing any other advantages/ disadvantages ? Would you recommend replacing bank stocks with this ETF and why ?
Thanks
Derek

Q: I have capital gains from early in 2022 that can be offset by capital losses. I have losses in the following stocks. Of these pairs which would you sell to offset the gains? UCTT or ASML; CRWD or MAGT; SLF or BNS or POW.
Q: In response to Dan about buying non TD ETF's at TD brokerage, I had the same problem back in July, and threw in the towel. I moved to National Bank, where all my trades are free, both ways, and I can buy any ETF I want. The only downside with National, is their quotes are delayed by 15 min., so in a fast moving market I would open another window where I have instantaneous quotes, compare, and problem solved. TD sucks!

Q: Recall my comment last week that TD will not let me buy HSAV or many other high-interest savings ETfs. It seems I can buy "similar" EFTs if they are in US$ like HYGH for example. I have some funds in a USD trading account with the Greed Machine and thinking of a short investment in HYGH but I noticed it wasn't mentioned in the ETF and Mutual Fund article on the subject. Is this reasonable place to park some money until say January or so. I am just trying to obtain a positive return. Better suggestions are most welcome. Thanks, Dan

Q: Hello 5I,
Considering the huge drop again on Friday is this just an over reaction or has something fundamentally changed? Do you see this after significant value long term or move on?
Thanks

Q: Do you like the prospects of ECN at this time and do you think now is a good time to purchase shares in the Company or are there other Companies that you see as more attractive at this time? Note: I do have GSY already.
Q: I note that the dividend rate is pretty high for this company, do you believe it's sustainable? Or would you suggest an alternative?
Q: Taxes on share buybacks..The govt. is proposing to tax buybacks.. which companies do you think will get affected? What are your thoughts on this. Thanks.

Q: I’m still in the green on AQN, having owned it for a while. I held on for the dividend and because it is in a non-registered account and didn’t want to pay the tax. Of course, the share price is about half of its peak of about a year ago. I did not see any signs at the peak that AQN would have such a precipitous fall.
How to view this?
1. Tune it all out as noise and keep collecting the dividend.
2. In future, trim any stock that more than doubles and reinvest in a different company, taxes be damned.
3. Consider this drop as over done and a buying opportunity.

Q: Hi,
Having a position in AQN that is now underwater, I am wondering about selling it as well as two bank holdings that have a total profit equal to AQN's loss with the idea that I can use the proceeds to purchase another bank stock or two, top up ENB holdings, or something else you might recommend. All three holdings are in taxable accounts. Open to suggestions, as I have the sense that waiting to see how AQN does from here appears to be more risky than moving on. Your thoughts on this idea would be most appreciated!
