Q: How would you rank this company at this time for increasing a currently small position in a portfolio? I am figuring people will be travelling more thus increasing demand for gas. Thanks Donna

Q: I hope I'm not out of line asking this. But I've noticed that, while you seem to like Square, the lack of SQ appearing in your disclosures indicate that you don't own any.
What would be your reasons for not owning SQ? I'm thinking long term and see potential with Square's Cash App replacing consumer banking. Thanks again.

Q: You listed KXS as one of your favorites to buy now, but at 120 p/e it's been hammered this week. Is it not overvalued and likely to stagnate or fall over the coming weeks/months?
Q: Does ESI pay a dividend? Did Murray Edwards take a recent position in this company?
Q: What do you think of the quality of managers, risk profile and prospects for this ALT fund? What weighting should these be in a portfolio? Thanks
Q: With the some positive news regarding Covid and a treatment, how comfortable would you be owning AC? There has been a nice little pop today, do you see that continuing and a recovery taking place?
Q: I am on CIBC and have received all shares and remainder funds. Shares a while back and remainder funds about 2 weeks ago. I wouldn't recommend CIBC on this behaviour alone however.
Q: ET is an income stock that cut it's dividend and is now not producing much income. It is in your income portfolio, is ET going to be replaced? If so with what? I follow your income portfolio very closely so this is of great interest. Thanks Ron

Q: As you can see by my holdings in my TFSA ,I have been following your advice. I am way up on KXS and am letting it run. Down on BNS, GUD, SIS and SLF. I have full position to add. I am looking at either REAL, LSPD , WELL or XIT.
Would you add to BNS or SLF or add one of the ones I am looking at? Long term view 20 years.
Thanks, Paul

Q: Just a comment on DYA re the question on its threat by the "electric vehicle boom".
DYA's technology, as I understand it, injects hydrogen derived from on-board water electrolysis into diesel engines to reduce emissions and possibly improve fuel economy. It is used on diesel trucks not on passenger cars with gasoline engines. The company claims to look at other applications such as diesel engines on big mining trucks, ships and the like as well. Vehicles with large diesel engines targeted by DYA, for a variety of reasons, will not be early adopters of EVs.

Q: Your thoughts on CET please.
Q: I currently hold 2,000 exe.a and 1,000 csh.un in one of my RRSP accounts and am down considerably on both.
1/ Do you feel the dividends are relatively safe?
2/ Do you think think they will rebound?
3/ Or - should I just trim them both and move on?
Thanks for your insights.

Q: Hello 5i Could you explain the options and timelines of the deal for the take over of this company. Also your recommendation for share holders that are currently holding shares of Bonavista. Thanks
Q: Most major North American indexes have recovered to within 5% to15% of their previous high. However the ETF "XDV" is still 22% below its high. What is your opinion for that lag?
Secondly, at a current dividend yield of 5.7%, do you recommend it for income and a long term buy and hold at this price?
The same question applies to DVY, the US equivalent which is 25% below its high and yielding 4.5%
Thank you.

Q: Hi,
This is about parking one's cash.
I know I have "slightly" less cash than Mr. Warren Buffet :))
But whenever I read that people like him have 134 BILLION dollars in cash or other Mega rich people sitting on the sidelines with literally hundreds of Millions of dollars, I have always wondered where these ultra rich people park their money?!
We the ordinary folks are struggling to get 0.65%. The same for them too?
Your answers have always suggested GICs, High Interest Savings Account and ETFs like PSA and very rarely Income ETFS/Mutual funds.
Any new suggestions?

Q: A comment for Bill and Paul on decumulating assets. I have used Cascades Financial Solutions as an individual investor. I found it quite useful for weighing options by changing the data inputted. It produced detailed reports and I found the cost very reasonable. Thanks for all you do at 5i. Frank H.
Q: Any reason for the price fall today (July 14th)?

North West Company Inc. (The) (NWC)

Q: Retired, dividend-income investor. Looking to top up my Consumer sector holdings. Currently have PBH, NWC and PLC, which are more on the Staples side of things. I have a "full" weighting on each, relative to my assessment of their risk. Considering getting back into the Discretionary side...maybe rebuy LNF or MG. Could you run a screen of Canadian Discretionary stocks that pay > 3% dividend and overlay that with your ranking from best to worst...maybe the top 5 for me to consider.
Thanks for your help...Steve
