Q: I see a few people asking about when to buy CSU. As you said, historically speaking, there has never really been a bad time to buy this stock.
Each year, I max out my TFSA contribution in January and I buy as much CSU stock as I can (started buying at $600/share). I started doing that years ago based on your recommendation and it's one of my biggest gains. I'm up massively and I never think once about what the price is when I submit my buy order.
There aren't many stocks like that in my portfolio but I stand by CSU.

iShares Core Canadian Universe Bond Index ETF (XBB)

Vanguard U.S. Aggregate Bond Index ETF (CAD-hedged) (VBU)
-
Vanguard Global Aggregate Bond Index ETF (CAD-hedged) (VGAB)
Q: Hello, last question on bond ETFs: for diversification purposes, having in my RSP individual canadian bonds, it might be interesting to invest in VGAB or VBU for additional money in fixed income products. For a long term investment, which ETF is preferable for the next few years: VGAB or VBU (given the interest rate context, etc.)? Thanks.
Q: Please explain the drop in TOL stock price when all the metrics look are looking good (as far as I can tell).
Does profit taking explain a 5% drop? What would be the logic in selling the stock of a company that has tailwind ?
Finally, if systematic, would a good contrarian strategy to buy those dips?
Thank you very much, especially for your patience with member's layman questions.
Merry christmas to all hard working staff at 5i Research

Q: Hi, what would your thoughts be on swapping ATD for DOL? Long term holder. Thanks
Q: EGLX an obvious disappointment. Are there other favoured e-sports, gaming streamers out there anywhere? Shifting my Comms allocation away from Cdn telcos to more positive prospects apart from GOOG and TMUS.
Q: Based on the information in the market at what level would u recommend a disposition of ere.un to move forward if not interested in owning the resulting entity after divid payment? What is likely to be the final value to current shareholders?
Are there any reits u feel particularly positive on to deploy resulting funds into for 2025 and if not yr favoured sector to deploy funds into in 2025?
Generally reit performance has been anemic this year n not certain if this will change in 2025.

Q: Hi,
I'm wondering if you can shed any light on why VRT's price has become more volatile lately - any geopolitical concerns, or maybe new competition? It has been a bit surprising lately.
Many thanks for all your great input!

Q: Tesla or Magna if just one for the consumer discretionary sector?
Thx

Q: Hello
We own all these names with decent weights.
With a good comfort zone with position size, what would be a decent price level to add ?
Thank You

Want to structure an asymmetric barbell, just in case there's more
than expected pullback!
Many thanks in advance.

Q: Kraken just announced results about a month ago and corrected on what was considered a miss on results. It has since recovered nicely and last few days have been very good to share price growth and with I think good volume.
Any news or explanation to account for this?
Thanks John

Q: I feel I have too many small positions (2% or less) in a diversified RRIF. All are above water except for DOL which is the most recent buy. Could I have your input re eliminating 2 (or 3) of the holdings and applying the funds to the other 3 (or 2)? Thank you.
Q: Hello, at this point in time, is CSU still a buy at the current price? What makes the price go up as relentlessly as it has been the past 5 few years? Thanks!
Q: Any insights to if and when APA Corporation would be a safe investment? Would you expect the dividend to be maintained?
Q: I did believe that " only USA located" energy (oil+gaz) growth stocks were an interesting investment considering certain isolationist tendencies coming in 2025, quite positive US economic performance, and other factors in the unstable world market. I did invest in these 2 Cies this week at a very low point ; after only 3 days, the losses are already 5% and 7% respectively, every single day reaching the lowest value of the year for DVN..Is it a situation of "falling knives" ,or an excessive correction, hold or sell as an impression according to the risk ? thanks for some light in this situation !
Q: 1st Source is claims to be the market leader, what are your thoughts on this one?

BCE Inc. (BCE)

Brookfield Renewable Corporation Class A Exchangeable Subordinate Voting Shares (BEPC)
Q: I am down 33% BCE and 18% BEPC in my non registered account. Would you sell both for tax loss purposes ? BEPC is suffering from the general negative in green stocks compounded by Trump but I like the company and would repurchase it while BCE would not be repurchased. Thanks. Derek
