Q: Only two holdings in my parents portfolio that both include a significant portion of bonds. Concerned if interest rates rise more than expected in a short period and bond prices decline. Wondering about putting a hedge in place , would a financial services etf accomplish this? Better ideas or thoughts on the bond portions of the holdings I referenced?

Q: EMA and FTS are both trading below their 200 dma and at their support prices.
Is there anything fundamentally wrong with either company to account for the drop? Or is money just rotating out of utilities?
I have 1/2 position in each and am thinking to add to them on this dip.
Would you suggest to add now at these prices? Or wait for them to turn up and over the 200 dma as they may just drop further?

Q: In your experience, how do underwriters of new issues "support" the price of a stock once trading has commenced; and what kind of under-standings do parties agree to regarding the timing and other aspects
of this activity? Thank you.

Q: Hi Peter,
The market did not take kindly to the revenue guidance for 2021 even if the growth rate would be 20%? Were the expectations from Europe much higher than what the company expects? What is your view? With its current valuation and projected growth, would you expect the stock price to stagnate? Unless they promise low and deliver over?

Q: I thinking of adding QQQ.US to my TFSA. I know there is a withholding tax for US dividends however the annual Dividend/Yield is only $1.74 or .055%. It appears the tax consequence would be minor in terms of dollars and cents. Is this reasonable . Thanks
Q: Please comments recent GM 's price pop. I have some GM shares, do you think I should add more today for a long term holding? Thank you!

Nutrien Ltd. (NTR $81.03)
Q: Hi 5i ,
I plan to increase my exposure to oil and agriculture. while doing my research, valuations and the RSIs have increased substantially. For example, stockta.com provides the following Alerts for LUN and TECK.B -"Stochastic Overbought Reversal' which I assume means that a reversal can happen any day. I assume that some holders are likely to take some profit soon. Most of what I have read says that you should wait for the RSI to come down but I also understand that the RSI can remain elevated for some time. Should I wait? or could these sectors be on a tear?
Please advise and thank you for your help

BMO Covered Call Canadian Banks ETF (ZWB $21.08)
-
iShares Canadian Financial Monthly Income ETF (FIE $8.86)
Q: Which of these ETFs would you prefer for financial exposure? The fixed income component of FIE contains 20% CPD, which has had a nice run and is now approaching a 52 week high, 10% XCB (corporate bonds). The remaining 70% is banks and lifecos. ZWB, on the other hand, is 100% banks, with covered call premiums.
Q: Hello Peter,
In general, what does one do if a stock that was doing very well all of a sudden goes in a downward spiral without any news? I am using Nuvei as an example, but the question applies to other stocks that may experience similar investor sentiment.. Also, what is the best site to get earnings release dates as wells as latest news releases? Thanks very much

Q: After TH ore-announced, they immediately announced a bought deal at a discount to market. It doesn’t appear that they are imminent need of cash, so I’m curious why they wouldn’t wait for a higher price if they felt their shares were under valued. I’d be curious your thoughts on this. Is it ever necessary to do a deal like this to increase market awareness? Thanks.
Q: Good morning, can you please comment on the quarterly earnings and results for both of these companies announced yesterday. Thanks for all the excellent guidance to date!
Q: Hi,
I own Parex and I saw that earlier this week they announced share repurchases of another 10% of their float in addition to the 10% purchased last year.
What do you think of share repurchases instead of instituting a dividend? Which do you prefer? Are share repurchases a good use of capital?
Thanks,
Jason
