Q: When lookking at the ROI over 3-5-10 years. The S&P has always done better than the others. When looking at the strength of their economy and the investment that US companies put in R&D how are they gonna loose their 1st position as a super economy power? and foremost and this is the question: Why invest elsewhere? Canada with merely 5% of the world economy? Europe has been lagging since I started investing 40 years ago where else? China? gotta be kidding. Seriously why spread our investments worldwide when the best is our neibours? Just buy the S&P and wait still forever.

Thanks

Yves

Q: Hello 5i,

With the rise in the USD and decline in Asian and European stocks and ETF's, is this a good time to purchase ETF's for those zones with the anticipation that the ETF's will increase if the usd declines in value in the next 2-3 years?

If so, can you recommend one ETF for each zone for the cdn and us exchanges?

Thank you.

Q: I need to increase my Global ETF or ETFs (ex- North America) exposure. I currently have some VIU but am wondering if I should consider a couple geographic areas: Europe, Asia, Japan etc. My preference would be something I can hold in CAD non-hedged and preferred non covered call.

Q: Do you like VA or better to invest in a different ETF? I own only this ETF and AFG Global Dividend Fund. The VA ETF has not performed that well and wonder if I should invest a better overall global ETF? If so what would be your recommendation?

Thanks

Would you please recommend an ETF/ETFs with focus on Asian markets, e.g. Hong Kong, South Korea, China, Vietnam, etc. traded in either Toronto or New York.
Great work guys and Happy New Year...

Q: Greetings 5i,

I am looking to add some ETF exposure to the developed Asian markets (I currently have no exposure to this region), and am leaning towards VA. Does this sound like a reasonable choice to you, or is there another ETF you feel would be more appropriate.

I am 35 years old, am a fairly conservative investor, and have a preference for long term holds with as much diversification as possible. I already have ETF exposure to America (TDB), Europe (VE), and Emerging markets (VEE). This addition would take my overall portfolio to 30 holdings.

Thank you.
