Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: I realize you do not cover US stocks but to the best of your knowledge, how similar would you consider Unilselect to be to Genuine Parts? I'd prefer to buy Canadian in this case.

I think Amazon could be a bit of a threat to these companies, but I would also think there would be enough loyalty from auto service shops (mainly because of immediate parts delivery) to maintain most of their ground. Would you agree?

Thanks .

Jim

Q: Hello Team,
I've been patient and I was looking for a chance to grab Uni Select shares at a good price. I am happy to have waited so far since the price of the share dropped more than 13% following today's earnings,
What is your advice (grab some share, let the dust settle...) following today's drop in price.

Thank you for the good advice!
Michel

Q: Hello Team,
I've been waiting for a chance to grab Uni Select shares at a good price since a couple of years. Do you feel that, at the current price, it is a time to take a half-position considering their balance sheet and prospect... even if the momentum in the share price is not good at all right now?

Thanks in advance for your advice !

Q: Howdy! The Kiki Delaney chapter in "Market Masters" has inspired me to invest more in Quebec-based equities. I already have BCE, CAE, CNR & GUD. Please rank the top 3 in this list (or other Quebec-based equities that I didn't list) to add right now purely on long-term (3-5 yrs) appreciation (value + dividends).
Thank you,
David L

Q: Team:
Aftermarket automotive parts companies (autozone, genuine, o'reilly) have experienced bad performance over the past year.
Should uni select be grouped with these other companies?
Gas cars will be around for years and these stocks have been good performers. Would Uni Select would a good selection?

Thanks

Q: Could you please comment on the latest quarter results from UNS.
Apparently consumers are hanging on to the vehicles longer and longer each year. Based on the latest data it is almost up to 12 years. If not UNS do you have any other preferred names in the replacement auto parts market which would be a better place to initiate a position.
Thanks

Q: Hi all at 5i! I am happily looking at a tidy profit with my Uniselect Stock . I am up about $20K on the stock. Here's the problem. Part of me wants to take the money and run....the other part of me says leave it alone and let it grow more. My question to you would be where do you foresee this stock going? Is it a good one to hold a while longer given its statistics and where the economy maybe headed, or should I make out like a bandit and cash her in? I don't need the money right now. Thank you for all you do for us. Regards, Tamara

Q: I am resubmitting this question as apparently the symbols did not show up with my first question. Can you please comment on these stocks as to suitability for a GROWTH portfolio and if you have any concerns over any of these. Are there any substitutions you would make to this list? Thank you.
