Q: I understand that you are not tax experts but this is regarding reporting a superficial loss on the tax return. I understand that a loss cannot be claimed if it’s a superficial loss. How does this get reported on Schedule 3? Do I set the ACB the same as the proceeds of disposition resulting in $0 gain/loss or is there a more appropriate method? I also started a thread on the Forums section. Thanks

Q: Are there ETF's out there that employ both Active and Passive investing under one roof, or do I have to buy one active and one passive to create my allocation to both strategies ?

Q: Hey guys,

MDT gets lots of love on here but seems to be losing a bit of steam. The chart is concerning and it appears ready to test the 82.50 mark. Do you continue to like it and how far are you willing to tolerate what appears to be a downtrend? Hold with conviction or is there a point you throw in the towel?

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan & Team,
Happy Easter! Recently, the Motley Fool had quite a critical view of Allied.
https://www.fool.ca/2019/04/19/avoid-this-reit-till-canadas-recession-hits/
Do you concur with their view?
It's in my wife's TFSA (I realize that this isn't the right pace for a REIT, but it has done very well for her. Currently, it's 1.95% of our combined portfolio. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Q: Hi 5i team, I am doing some due diligence on PEO. PEO will become a take out candidate (for a AON, Mercer, WTS, Morneau-Sheppell): at what conditions or what size? As the company ever discussed about a Toronto listing? What are your expectations about it? Would you agree that these two main lines (broker and TPA) of business are pretty much recession resistant? The CEO mentioned that he expects to make several acquisition of “non-controling interest” in the next few years: It should be a good move since it is less risky (less integration risks)?
What do know about their main (similar size competitors) in Canada, Hub and AJ Gallagher? Can you comment about the risks on the emergence of private health market exchanges such as AON Choices (partnering with six large insurers in Canada)? Can you comment results published Monday morning.
Thank you for your collaboration,
Eric
