Q: Could you comment on today's news release. There seems to be strong growth in patient visits and practitioners but is this at the expense of growing revenues and ultimately profits?

Q: I have recently started committing cash to the tech sector and own LSPD and SHOP. I was wondering if you could provide 3-5 CDN listed names other than these that represent the best growth opportunities.

Q: In another question, you answered: "We believe that inflation will moderate into 2023, interest rate hikes will be paused sometime in Q3 or Q4 of this year, and a recession to last until Q1 or Q2 of 2023."

With this expectation, what are some good sectors and stocks (trading on the TSX) to be in in this environment?

Q: Have held this fund for some time. Lately the performance of the fund appears to be under performing. Down substantially in the past 6-9 months, returns have been in the bottom quartile of comparable funds. Three year performance is around 2% a year. Are you aware of any reasons for these type of returns? I have been thinking about selling the fund and investing directly in securities that comprise your income/ balanced portfolios. Would you endorse this action or would you suggest that I continue to hold the fund. In either case would appreciate your rationale for your suggestions.

How would you answer if WCP was the stock I'm considering to sell (not TPZ) in order to buy more TOU? (I realize that WCP is more of a growth story, but it's quite a bit more volatile than TOU.)

Q: I put 8-10% of my portfolio in gold, not as a trading play but as a kind of insurance.

I've been wanting to divide this between gold and bitcoin, using the funds above which you seem to prefer.

So far, bitcoin has been too expensive to convert half the gold. I'm wondering now if the price is right.

Also, please let me know whether you still think it's a good policy. It's mostly based on my interpretation of your advice over the years, but I'd like to confirm.

Is management competent, names of big name investors, cash & debt? Do you see any potential for success here?

Q: I hold a 2.4% position in TOU and a 1.2% position in TPZ in a non registered account. TOU has had greater upside (65% for me) and probably still has legs over the very long term. Capital gain on TPZ is 17.25% and the dividends are solid. TPZ seems to be more an income play than a growth play. I was thinking about selling TPZ and adding to TOU for greater potential growth (5 to 10 year horizon). Currently I hold about 10% energy in Exploration and Production companies combined, but would be swapping securities rather than adding new money. Capital gains from selling TPZ would be manageable with enough capital loss offsets. Is this a good idea or should I continue to hold TPZ?

I have divided my energy holdings into E & P companies (10%) and pipelines (15% -- largely for income -- and in many respects the pipelines are closer to utilities than to oil production companies)

Q: I have held TOY for many years and it has shown glimpses of promise but has never really fulfilled its potential. My return has been relatively flat over that time period. Part of my interest in TOY was the potiential for it to be taken out, but the more I read about the company the less convinced I am that the founders have any interest in exiting. Although it has held up better than the market during the past year, I am wondering if it would be a good time to take advantage of its relative strenght and purchase one of the many good companies that have been "unfairly" punished and which might have greater upside than TOY over the next 3-5 years. One such stock I have been watching is CTS.
- would you agree that a trade of TOY to CTS is likely to yield a better return over 3-5 years?
- would there be a better trade you would recommend?
- how likely is it that a large catalyst (ie a blockbuster toy or a takeover) is going to occur to propel TOY higher?
- on a scale of 1-10, 10 being most risky, how would you rate the risk level of TOY vs CTS?
