Q: I am retired and have both a cash and RIF account. In my cash account are the big 5 Banks, T & BCE, FRU & IPL. I see that IPL has cut the dividend & FRU has a "1,437% Pay out Ratio (PoR)!! I have mostly REITs in my RIF & EXE & CHE.
I'm not concerned re the banks or telecoms but the PoR of FRU, CHE & EXE are of concern to me. I also feel that in the longer term, the REITs will survive especially with interest rates so low. Also, to replace IPL would you consider PPL
Your thoughts please.

Q: Hi, INE has strongly outperformed pretty much all utilities including other renewables such as NPI, CPX, BEP and even AQN over the past 20, 50 and 100 days. Any plausible reason for this? Would Hydro Quebec’s investment mean that much? Would they stand behind INE in the event of significant pressure on INE should it occur? Thanks.

Q: Are there Canadian equivalent to TIP and STIP. I don’t want to add to my risk by not being hedged. I’m looking for a way to protect against inflation at some point. Is there another way besides inflation protected bonds?

Q: I am looking for companies that should do well in the work from Home economy. Im also looking for companies such as $REAL and $DOCU that provide support to businesses.
I currently own $TDOC, $REAL, $ROKU, $VZ, $BCE. I would appreciate a few names that 5I likes in Canada and the US.

Q: SU or CNQ: looking at all metrics, which one would you buy for the long-term? I realize that the oil price is the biggest factor: supply issue (too much) and a demand issue due to COVID-19; however, when the data for COVID-19 starts looking positive demand should start to increase - 1/2 of the equation. I realize dividends are dependent on the price of oil; but, perhaps one co. is more isolated in this regard? I am a long-term investor - NOT a trader, so, can wait. Also, a dividend cut may be a good thing for now?

Q: I'm interested in buying the preferred shares of some of Canada's stronger companies. If you were going to buy the preferreds of 5 companies today which ones would you buy? Of course price and yield are important factors. Please be specific as I know each company offers many different preferreds to investors. As always, thanks for your appreciated guidance.

Q: Can you offer thoughts on Baylin tech. I was thinking this would be a play on 5G down the road. Stock has been really hammered. Looks like the debt could become a problem but they are still working because they are considered essential need. Building a new plant to deal with future demand in what could possibly be a high growth industry?

Q: I have held ccl.b and nfi for a number of years and done well, although the last few years have been disappointing. I have just sold my positions in these two companies and am considering cae and tfii as replacements. Your thoughts?
Does Cae’s recent decision to lay people off and cancel its dividend raise concerns or reaffirm its strong management and strengthen its eventual recovery?
Is tfii’s balance sheet strong enough to get through this crisis and given the need to deliver inventory by trucks provide rational for strength during the short term as well as once recovery takes hold?
I have a diversified portfolio which is fairly well balanced by sector and reflects your balanced and income portfolios with a smattering of stocks from your growth portfolio.
