Q: Happy new year 5I! (this question is not urgent),
Given how far the Canadian dollar has fallen, in an RRSP is there any merit to switching a VIG to VGH if one thinks the CAD will bottom soon and then slowly work its way up by 9-10% in value over the coming years?
Q: What is your outlook for BEI? It is down approx. 30% from its high. Has broken well past its 200 day moving average. If you held it today would you continue to hold or sell?
I am pondering selling some positions in my cash account and buy a few USD income producing investments. Could you please give me your opinions and analysis of OBDC and OCSL given the current interest rate and macro outlook?
SCHD is an EFT I have heard a lot about and looks like a quality holding in an income focused portfolio. Are there any other U.S. ETFs with a similar yield that you would recommend as an alternative or addition to SCHD?
Finally what are the tax implications for a Canadian holding these investments in a non-registered account?
Q: Merry Christmas. I'm doing some trimming in my unregistered U. S. account early in the new year. I have had a great run with both these stocks. Does either 1 have any headwinds ? Which has more upside ? Trim both, or sell 1?
Have a great new year gents.
David
Q: What's up with HIVE? It is getting pummeled pretty hard even though BIT coin is still over 90 grand. Between Hive's holdings of BIT and over cash what per centage of the market capital is covered. Seems like HIVE is oversold. Agree?
Q: I recall that a few years ago, it was said that CNR had approximately an 18% equity position in FRU. I wondered if: a) the share count of FRU had changed dramatically and, b) if CNR still has an approximately 18%. Thanks to all the 5i team and have a healthy 2025. Bill
Q: Can you please provide two or three of the best Canadian natural gas producers. Also if there is an etf available please include that.
Happy New Year
Q: What should the ultimate p/e ratio for Goeasy be? I know that p/e ratio in this sector tend to be low, but what would be fair in your eyes if say earnings growth plateaued at around 15% per year long term? 10X? 15X? Thanks.
Q: QYLG and XYLG dropped "extremely more" than the market ( close to 16%) on December 30th ,and it seems that RYLG had about the same pattern. Thanks for any explanation..
Q: Im a retiree in late 60's, focus on Income with a growth potential down the road.
Further to Nancy's question on Telus on its current dividend of about 8%+, and a free cash flow almost 2x of dividend, will this be a time to buy given that the interest rate is coming down, and the banks GIC is about half of this return. I have some idle cash looking for a steady return like GIC. Do u forsee any dividend cut ? Thanks again
