Q: For these three companies, would they be good candidates for the TFSA, knowing they are smaller capitalization entities? And if so, what order would you suggest doing so or all somewhat equal.
......Thanks....Tom
The last question about this stock was on June 21, 2018. What is your opinion now? According to their investor presentation, they derive 55% of their revenue from the oil and gas industries. Given the recent uptick in performance of that sector, might VTX be worthy of consideration? I see that the latest average score from Thomson Reuters gives VTX a rating of 6, whereas they give 2 as an average score for XBC. Where XBC falls short, according to TR is in earnings (1), valuation (1), and risk (2), Your insight would be greatly appreciated.
Contemplating bringing down 10.54% AEM Weight in my TFSA to match 5i Balanced portfolio.
Option 1 - by 6.91% to match 3.63% AEM Position Weight.
Option 2 by 2.24% to match 8.3% Material Sector Weight as I dont own in Materials 4.67% of CCL.B.
My AEM Unrealized % Loss is 8.6%.
What would you suggest:
Question #1 Bringing down AEM Weight now or wait for the bounce.
Question #2 Bringing AEM down to match Position or Sector Weight.
Question # 3 Buying CCL.B in the Materials sector now or wait for better times.
Q: Hey guys,
You answered a question regarding LNF about hidden real estate of about 100M. Bill Harris' estimate is closer to 800M to 900M in today's market. They have 369M in cash , as of 2020. Market cap of 1.6B - real estate 800M-cash leaves 369 M = ~500M for the business. 160M earnings last year gives me a P/E ratio of 4-5. Which seems like a dream.
Is this a flawed way of thinking about valuation? Leon's has a boring name with little analyst coverage, A Peter Lynch special. What will it take for the market to figure it out?
Q: I'm interested in supplementing my regular 5i membership with your Portfolio Analytics tools. Is there somewhere where I can read about everything Portfolio Analytics has to offer or preferably even see how it generally works with some type of demonstration site. It's not an issue of the extra cost for Portfolio Analytics (seems pretty reasonable considering it also includes the 5i membership fee) it is more a question about understanding what it does and provides compared to other similar tools and services out there. I'm sure its great, just want to understand it a bit more before moving forward. Thanks.
Thanks.
Q: I have US stocks in my RRIF, Cash account, and TFSA that would total 150K. I am a Canadian, and I do not own any property in the US. Can I assume there are no US tax implications?
Q: Hello Peter et al:
Just a note of thanks. Some time ago I suggested that a portfolio assessment section would be helpful in a Q&A format here. You said it was a good idea but may be suitable for Canadian Money Saver, (CMS). I see now in CMS Portfolio Confidential has become a regular feature! This month's case history has so many similarities to our situation and is very helpful
Thank Ms. Barbara Stewart on my behalf and a big thank you to you as well!
Q: Just looked over recent results and it looks to me like their 2020 full year results were roughly the same or below 2019 numbers on some key metrics, this seems odd for a stock that is up 1600% in that year, would be in for a huge decline unless im missing something (my average cost is 5.05 and i am in for the long haul just dissapointed)what is your opininion here on the stock going forward B,S,or Hold and why thanks so much.
Q: Hi 5i Team,
Your thoughts on Acuity ads earnings and it's prospects going forwards. As well, do you consider Unity a buy at present levels?
Thanks,
Bob
Q: 10/15 div stocks that would be best in a market melt down (maintain div)
10/15 div sticks that would be best in inflation run up (no/low debt)
No consideration for sector or concentration needed.
US and Canadian stocks ok prefer Candian if there is a tie
Use credits as needed

Thoughts on the recent earnings and what your opinion on the stock overall touching on insider ownership, cash flows, valuation , the market for their product and the competition. Would you buy, hold or sell? Thanks
Q: When you said: "Many current and day orders get cleared out overnight, only leaving long term orders in, which tend to have wider spreads." Do you mean that orders actually get filled when the stock market is closed?
