If you had to describe the current market direction (up, down, sideways, don't know) how would you describe it?

Would you suggest 5 highish likelihood stocks ready for a bit of a rebound within the next few weeks/months?

Suggestion: We learn from our mistakes. Is there any chance you could have a page that notes all of 5i's misses (along with the explanation)?

I have been getting some bullish scuttlebutt on CIX. Would you give me your opinion on CIX's future...and likelihood it will get to $30?

Q: Are there any public companies that stand to profit if housing foreclosures in the U.S. significantly increase over the next 3-4 years? Or a suggested investment strategy to play this scenario in public markets?

I would appreciate your assessment of MNDY and the sub-sector it is in. As a growth stock, wha is the potential total addressable market for its services, what percentage is it targeting, how is it positioned for growth vis-a-vis its competitors. In a nutshell, if you wanted to have a position in this area, would you buy and at what entry price. Or, do you prefer another and if so, why.

Q: i have listed some cdn oil companies, i own ath and cpg. my question is with oil at 91. none of the above companies or all cdn or u.s oil companies stock price even comes close to an oil price of 91., most are 25-30% below where they should be. they are coining so much cash it defies description.
why is this and will it ever change or is this the environment re oil and gas-dirty fuel etc we just have to live with. dave

2. Would you endorse averaging down to reduce book value? This is in a long term account with drip turned on

Q: My question is about HBND, the new bond covered call ETF, which is yet to appear in your menu. It seems like a very nice alternative to a plain vanilla bond ETF, due to the high distributions, and general safety of covered call writing, but your opinion would be much valued. I realize it is new, therefore no history to track, and no doubt still quite small, but i wonder about the safety and erosion of the share price.

Q: Hi, between these 2 stocks who have recently reported not so enviable quarters (and knowing they could go even go lower from here before they settle a bit)....are they both a show me story now? Is there more conviction in one or the other ...or would you put new money elsewhere? I currently own about 2% of each.
It seems both of their recent 1/4 releases were surprises to most of us. Not very credible management to not have seen this coming, IMHO.

Q: I am a long-term buy & hold type of investor. There are 3 companies in my portfolio with renewable energy assets--AQN, BEPC, NPI-- with percent weightings in my portfolio of 0.7%, 0.9%, and 0.8%, respectively (2.4% in total). I have an unrealized loss with AQN of ~$40,000, and so was thinking of crystallizing the loss-- temporarily shifting the proceeds to BEPC--with a plan to re-buy AQN in >30 days. HOWEVER, given that AQN is planning to divest its renewable energy assets (correct?) and given that I have lots of other utility exposure (FTS, EMA, with these 2 securities totaling 3.5% portfolio weighting), perhaps it would be better to just keep the proceeds from the AQN sale in BEPC (and perhaps also upping the NPI holding somewhat), and not bother re-buying AQN in >30 days time. With the general caveat that you are hesitant to give "personalized" advice, how would you handle this type of situation?

Q: We have 30% allocated in our registered accounts for fixed. (currently 10% each for CBO, ZAG and XBB) Are these the best options for today and the next year(s)? Also see XLB recommended recently and wondering if we should be adding or replacing any of the above?
