Q: Hi, I have owned ONEX for about a year and down 18%. I would like to own a private equity co. ONEX's purchase of Westjet was bad timing and the airlines will continue to struggle going forward for some time I think. In a recent question about ONEX, you said ONEX has lost money and revenues have not changed for the last 8 years, so just curious, what drove its stock up from $35 to $100 between 2013-2018?? Would you continue to hold? I'm thinking of selling ONEX and switching into KKR or BX?? Or possibly buy more BAM? In this low rate environment, PE should benefit right? Looking for long term growth in my LIRA. Thanks!
Q: Hello Peter,
On my previous question, you felt Alamos was a decent stock and may attract international investors. Given the new data (their earnings), is it better to redirect the monies to Kirkland Lake, Agnico Gold or the ETF , XGD. I thought with higher gold prices, Alamos would have crushed the earnings.. Also, any idea why the block chain etf is surging constantly. Thanks
Q: DND had its IPO recently and started trading about 2 weeks ago. Is there a lockup period where insiders cannot sell their shares? If so, what are details -- when can they start selling into the market?
I am looking at buying one or more of REAL, WELL and DND in my TFSA. In what order would you buy today?
Q: In your opinion, is there any future for the pot stocks? There seems to be a surplus of cannabis on both the legal and black markets, black market prices are dropping and provincial governments now seem inclined to try to compete. Will any of the pot stocks be able to make serious profits in the near or long term?
Thanks.
Q: I hold Gildan and am down substantially like many shareholders. I still think I should continue to hold due to all the uncertainty created by the Covid 19 situation. Gildan's go forward plan and strategy seem fine to me. What are your thoughts? Thanks.
