iShares Russell 2000 Growth ETF (IWO $291.64)
-
iShares Core S&P/TSX Capped Composite Index ETF (XIC $43.16)
-
Vanguard Dividend Appreciation FTF (VIG $206.79)

SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY $631.17)
Q: Hi 5i,
I have 10k in my TFSA that I'd like to allocate to ETF's. I'm still in school so I won't have as much money coming in to diversify through stocks.
I was wondering what would be the best way to allocate (how many, what percentage)? I was thinking along the lines of XIC, SPY, and VIG.
Also, what do you think about investing purely in ETF's?
Thanks in advance,
Jon

Q: I seem to have gotten overweight financials in my US portfolio. i currently own JPM, VISA, Etrade, Paychex. I do prefer to hold a basket in each sector as i don't like single company risk. What would recommend, trim each or could you list these in preference order of best to own. I like them all for different reasons so i am struggling to make a decision here.

BMO MSCI India Selection Equity Index ETF (ZID $49.05)
-
Horizons Robotics and Automation Index ETF (ROBO)
Q: Hello -
Even though these two ETF's trade on the TSX, there are foreign companies within their respective portfolios, For this reason, would ownership of these ETF's in open accounts count towards the $100,000 of foreign property that one needs to disclose?
Thanks.
Jim

Q: The stock has had a nice run. Will it be affected by possible interest increases in Europe which are very low?
For an long- term income investor with the target of reasonable capital appreciation, should it be held, sold, or reduced by half in the current environment?

Q: I'm interested in buying more ALA for a long term hold, primarily for income. I have a couple of questions:
1) It seems the market is pretty negative on the acquisition. What do you think the main concerns are?
2) Normally, when a dividend yield gets this high the market is saying it is not sustainable. What's your opinion?
Thanks
Peter

Q: I currently have positions in Kinaxis and Constellation with allocations of 4.28% and 2.07% respectively. Would it be advantageous to reverse the allocations. Selling Kinaxis would involve taking a large capital gain.
Thank you for the great service.

Q: What is your opinion of Toromont?
Q: Did you glean anything from the company call?
Q: Do you think there is any possibility that urethecast will be taken over; I have a [very] small position but am getting tired of waiting for something to happen
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Hello 5i, I am up over 70% on this company. So I am wondering if it is time to consider selling or should I accumulate more. It's still under 5% of my portfolio. Do you see any reason to sell? What is your assessment of the company. They seem to be doing all the right things for some growth. Do you see anything in the near term that could cause some downward pressure? Thanks for your service..
Q: Do you think a buy-out or partnership is likely in the cards for PLI? Would GUD have any interest?
Q: Gentleman your opinion on Shopfied
Q: I am reaching for YIELD and at 9% the yield on QYLD is very appealing.
If the tech sector falls out of favour and drops like FaceBook did this week, what are the implications for the dividend? Would the share price drop too?
As a long term "HOLD" I can live with a lower share price because it would most likely recover over time.
But what about the dividend? Can I count on it holding at current levels or possibly even increasing?
Thanks.

Q: Hi Peter and team,
My bond portfolio needs some new additions and would like your take on the above, they are all in the 4 year time frame paying around 5%, these are high yield bonds available through my broker. Thanks and Happy Easter to all.

Pure Industrial Real Estate Trust (AAR.UN $8.09)
-
Dream Industrial Real Estate Investment Trust (DIR.UN $11.51)
Q: I was looking to replace AAR.UN with an industrial reit. I found WIR.U which has P/E of 9.12 and DIR.UN has P/E of 26.19. Both are not 100% industrial reit. I will appreciate if you could give me some info on how come DIR.UN is having such high P/E? Or you can suggest some reit which has more growth rather then yield.
Q: Would like clarity on what 5i defines as a position. My understanding is that if I buy a stock/ETF etc that I have a position. That is how I find it defined in literature. In reading your Q&A I see references to 1/2 a position, 3/4 of a position. Is this a dollar value or % of a portfolio?
Q: Hello,
I'm wondering if you have any update on Snipp Interactive? It is a very small cap but appears to be growing. No analysts, but Thompson Reuters seems to like it more recently.-
"The score for Snipp Interactive Inc reached its 3-year high of 7 this week.
- The recent change in the Average Score was primarily due to an improvement in the Price Momentum and Risk component scores".
I'd appreciate your fine insights.
Thanks,
Brian

Q: MAXR has been beaten up recently and justifiably so due to its expanding debt and poor earnings forecast. Lately they have been issuing a few press releases detailing new contracts, some from repeat customers. The contracts don't seem large enough to have a material impact on the company but they are good news none-the-less. The stock appeared to bounce on Friday up 3%. I am thinking of averaging down to my very long held position. The weighting would increase from 1.7% to 2% so I wouldn't be risking too much. Any comments or concerns?
Thanks,
Jim
