Q: could you please give your opinion on holding or selling each of these companies
Q: I own both CVE & ECA for many years now .Back when they were one company (Encana).
Now that the recovery has taken place my diversification in energy is higher than I want it to be . I have Suncor and BP as my core companies and I want to get rid of either CVE and or ECA (maybe both).
Can you give me consensus estimate for both CVE and ECA. And can you give me your opinion as to which one I should get rid of (CVE or ECA).
Lastly do you believe SU and BP are good core company choices for my energy sector allocation.
Thank you

Q: Greetings,
Nicw gains in QEC over a short timeframe. I'm tempted to just take the profit and go away happy but I keep thinking about your advice regarding selling winners too early which I've certainly done more than once. Now that Quebec has passed Bill 106 it's hard to see another catalyst in the next year or two and it seems this will just drift lower. What do you think?

Q: Its gone up a lot since you added. Is it too late for me to buy?
Q: Hello Team: I have been asked to look after my Mother in Law's non-registered portfolio. I want to diversify it and deploy the cash that is sitting there. Strong dividend payors is the priority and she can tolerate moderate risk if good growth potential exists.
- since she is overweight in Utilities, should I sell EMA or VNR (BEP.Un is a core holding)
- would you switch out CRR.UN in favour of ECI (understanding they are in different sectors, which is the better holding)?
- with cash I want to invest in 4 sectors she is currently not in, and thought of starting positions in WEF for Basic materials, SYZ for Tech, WSP for Industrial and for Consumer Cyclical would like your opinion on best of either NFI, MX, MG or XTC
Please feel free to substitute other names if I am not on the right track.
Many Thanks
Scott

Q: I still have a small position in DH. Dump it or hang around for possible takeout?
Q: How does not being accepted on the LSE affect intertain
Q: 5i Team,
Excellent call on XTC few days ago.
Where do you see XTC fair value?
Do you see any other opportunities where price doesn't reflect the business fundamentals that is too cheap to ignore.
Thank you for great service.

Q: GDI is not in the sexiest of industries but you have to clean everyday so there is always business. Current price looks low, any thoughts for this as a growth opportunity.
Thanks

Q: On December 6th's edition of the Globe & Mail John Reese recommended Wabash (WNC). Is it a good stock? He noted its P/E to be seven and earnings per share growth of 30%. Does the company have a high debt and do insiders own stock?
Thanks

Q: Hello Peter et al:
We are "nearly retired"! We hope NOT to need TFSA in the near future, may be not ever! RRSPs and non-RRSPs are fairly well diversified. The question(s) are: Do we need to still contribute to TFSA? (We haven't contributed to RRSPs in a few years.)
If we do contribute $ 5500 each 11k for both of us what two stocks ( one each per a/c) will you recommend? Our major risk factors are health (always unpredictable at this stage in one's life) and (adult) kids who are at the mercy of our politicians and their policies.
Thank you for all your help.
Mano.
P.S. One small suggestion....not sure if this can be pulled off at CMS or not. If in some way Ross Grant can give his BTSX portfolio in January issue, it would be cool. I know technically it may be difficult. But even if it can be uploaded on the CMS web site within a week and then appear in February issue, it will fine.

Q: I need to add US exposure to my holdings and with a view to the anticipated rate increase by the US Fed wanted some assessment of US banks. What is your opinion of the large banks versus the regionals?
Specifically I am looking at Bank of America and Wells Fargo. do you have an opinion on the ETF KBE:US? If not any of these would you have a couple other specific preferences?
Peter

Q: Hi Peter and team,
This your no body is talking about tax loss selling. Will you pl throw some light on the subject and likely candidates having strong balance sheet?

Q: Teck has been hammered over the past four trading sessions. Looking at the chart, this appears to be the nastiest drop in the last year. Do you know of an underlying cause?
Q: My IT sector weighing is 8% of total portfolio and consists of three equality weighted equities, SYZ, OTC, and ENGH. Long term holdings and have been happy with overall performance, but I wonder if they are diversified enough across their business segments. I would like to keep OTC, but what other two IT sector equities would you recommend to complete the trio?

Robert

Q: I am currently up 30 to 60% on these companies, all are held in an RSP or RIF account. Would you add, take profits, or sell full position in any of these funds. I have about $20,000 to invest currently in my RRSP and am wondering if it is to late to start a new US position. I am considering facebook or google? Thanks for your input!
