Q: Peter and His Wonder Team
I realize shipping stocks are cyclical...Not sure if the wars or new supply chains are a positive or negative. What I mean is they could charge higher rates if there is risk involved. In any event I have held this stock for too many years and am even. However at this point it appears to be "dead-money"...if you know what I mean. Can you see any reason to be patient for a few more quarters? Thanks as always...your opinion is always a voice of reason!

Q: What are your current thoughts on KEYS? I'm up 55% and thinking of buying some more, maybe increase my overall weighting to 5%. The latest numbers seem positive and I like that they are getting involved on EV battery testing and charging. EV battery charging seems to be a problem if you don't drive a Tesla. Probably would need to sell some NVDA to raise the USD which is not ideal but of course our NVDA weighting is too high. Also is KEYS an Industrial Company? Any thoughts you have would be appreciated.

Q: SRLN looks unsafe at first glance. the yield at over 8% p.a. looks high. Morningstar gives SRLN a neutral rating (forward looking) and 2 stars looking backward. Morningstar is often out of date, and there is better information at ETF.com. Your Bloomberg is not available to us commoners.

I ask this this question because bank-owned brokers make it difficult and/or expensive to buy bonds. Information and pricing on bonds are not easily searchable. Every time I force myself to look at asset allocation, the robotic tools I use scream at me that I am mad in that I zero fixed income. This brought me to look at bond ETFs and I acquired some USHY which looked decent, but that doesn’t quieten those pesky AI tools that help self-directed investors.

Is SRLN a reasonable enough proxy to add to the fixed income part of one’s portfolio? Or is it risky compared to other available US$ bond ETFs? I’d welcome substance in your response and if you care to add links to materials that pedestrian investors like me should look at, that could help. Many thanks.

Q: Hi Team,
Once again the hopeful small cap Jan bounce has done the opposite so far with essentially all growth being sold off. It’s amazing how a new year is here and it’s like a light switch where the narrative turns to everyone selling to lock in profits. This confuses me some as I thought year end Dec would be the time to lock in gains? What’s your take on the selloff and when’s your best estimate of when would be a good time to buy the dip? Is there a history of how long a Jan selloff typically lasts? Also; is there any standout buys in the market you see today now as a result of the recent selloff ? Thanks ,

Shane

Q: I don't have any retaill type stocks in my RRSP. This would be for a mid to long term period. Looking for capital appreciation with possibily reasonable dividend gains. Any suggestions?

Q: 5I Team,

Happy New Year!

What are your thoughts on Silversun Technologies Inc (SSNT) as a "jockey play" on Brad Jacobs? Any comments on how the RTO of SSNT is structured?

Thanks
