Q: Hi 5i Team; Please reply with two or three companies that produce natural gas, and will benefit the most from supplying the LNG Canada in Kitimat, after it begins shipping LNG?
Q: Update: According to BMO Investorline, item 2) below is not an option. The CRD has a different CUSIP (59516M104) than the NASDAQ listed stock (5949181045). Apparently this is true for almost all CDRs.
Hello,
I have 60 shares of MSFT in a non-registered account, and want to sell 18 shares to raise cash of about $11,300. I have capital losses in the account to offset the gains, so there should be no net tax.
To minimize transaction costs, I am considering three options:
1) Sell MSFT directly, and then use Norbert's Gambit to convert to Cdn$
2) Convert the shares the CDR equivalent, i.e. MSFT.CA and sell that in Cdn$ (not allowed according to BMO)
3) Sell MSFT for USD and then have the bank convert the shares (~1.6% conversion loss)

Q: Retired, dividend-income investor. I've been building a position in HHL for the last 6 months and am ready to add the final 10% tranche.
So, for asset allocation purposes, I can convince myself to go ahead. Add to that, the prices paid in the past (averaging $7.97) have all been higher than now ($7.18)....if I liked it at $8/share, then I should really like it at $7...right?
On the flip side, I don't trust what the USA admin is doing now. I can easily convince myself to leave things as they are now and pause buying more. Then it becomes a market timing question...sort of.
I am leaning towards sitting on my hands for a few more months. Your thoughts....thanks. Steve
It is not Rocket science that Trump's not so cryptic messages on Social Media create wide fluctuations in the market. Today it centered around EU. It could be about Japan tomorrow. Who knows?!
My question is: Are these wild fluctuations in the market caused by retail investors or Institutional investors. In other words, who exhibits "herd behavior", retail or institutional investors?! Do you see any specific pattern, especially in specific sectors?
In one of your recent answers, you had warned to be cautious about Discretionary sector. Hence this question.
Q: Hi,
Your views on the company. Does the company's business model is turning weak based on profitability and ROIC? Had the company lost its business mojo?
Thanks

Q: Thanks partly to your good advice, I have held GOOG and MSFT for some years. they are now 17% and 28% of my account. I am a senior but fairly risk tolerant. Should I reduce either or both and if so what do you suggest as replacement? Thanks Jim
Q: Is today’s dip an opportune time to make an initial purchase or would you prefer to let the dust settle. I tend to be a buy and hold investor and have been waiting to get into this space.
As a second question, what do you think of GLXY’s plans for the money raised.
Q: Hello all at 5i: What are your thoughts on Definity's purchase of Travellers? Also who is your preferred company in Insurance? Many thanks as always. Barbara
