Q: What do you think of this company and do you think it could be a good investment for the long term ? I know they are the leaders in this kind of business and the valuation seems reasonable. Thanks
Q: Struggling with strategy within this market. Does one ride the momentum trade of stocks tied to data centre build out with huge valuations that go up every day, or does one look at a hated sector like healthcare and slowly pick away? Seems like every time there is something negative, like the Open AI news, the hot stocks sell off, but then people quickly go back to those. What should the strategy be- pick away at unloved quality or wait for the odd pullback and choose things that have the momentum? Thanks for your wisdom.
Q: Hi Peter
Can you elaborate on the merger of Ceco and Thurman group industries . What will we receive as shareholders of Ceco and do we need to do anything ? How would you proceed
Q: I own only 1 ETF (XQQ @ 10% of my portfolio). I'm looking to move to owning 3-5 ETFs to cover the broad market and then pick away at a few individual stocks for some extra growth.
Which few ETFs would you recommend to hold for 'adequate' and 'broad' market coverage. Note that I'm looking to hold 40-60% of my portfolio in these ETFs.
Q: If you were to create a portfolio of USA stocks or International ETFS for lets say a 68 year old person with $$1 million, what would buy for growth and safety protection in todays market. % would be helpful.
Thanks Again
Q: What is your opinion of the potential for a turnaround for various of these Private Credit firms? I have already put a small percentage of my portfolio in ARCC but:
a) is this firm the solid alternative it seems or
b) would I be better off with a position in BXSL,
c) the others, or
d) None at all?
Thanks
Best regards,
Q: Why is NBIS and related companies moving today (Friday) ? Early in the week they were down, and then absolute no movement on Thursday after big tech earnings report Wednesday. This market makes no sense.
NBIS announced the acquisition of Eigen AI on Friday and surged over 11%. What do you think of the acquisition? Does it continue to be one of your top recommendations for growth and why?
Thanks so much! I always appreciate your insight.
VNP has pulled back from its high of $36. Results are expected on May 6th after the close. Given the solid fundamentals, the critical minerals theme, and the tailwinds from AI and defence, for an investor with a 3 to 5 year horizon, would you initiate a full position today ahead of results, or would you wait for post-earnings confirmation?
Q: I understand that when you buy stocks, etfs of mutual funds whose distribution includes all or some ROC, this reduces your ACB and increases your future capital gains when you sell the asset. Does this become an onerous task, tracking each and every ROC payment across your portfolio and deducting it from your each ACB each time. Is there an easy way to do this? I assume the CRA must track this to ensure you are not avoiding taxes?
