Q: In an effort to minimize currency exchange costs, I am using separate all-in-one etfs for my CAD and USD accounts. The xbal for the CAD and the AOR for the USD account. I would be interested to know your thoughts and whether this merits attention. The xbal and others similar have huge Canadian weight which I would be happy to avoid. On the USD side they seem to have this sorted. My biggest beef there is that it is very US heavy and frustratingly, not visible in the 5i database. Could you please advise on option of xbal and aor, and also please look into integration of the AOR and comparable series?
Thanks
Peter

Q:

I have been using the method of "journal over " to my USD side of my TFSA. I do not need the funds until late next year. My question is, I would like to know if it matters to move BAM over now or wait. Does the CND being lower affect the move? I have a nice profit, does this affect the move? Thanks Gary

Q: I now hold TRP & SOBO in both my TFSA & and my cash account. I would like to consolidate the SOBO into one account. Any tho'ts. or suggestions on where on where it might be best to hold the SOBO going forward? Most of my pipeline holdings are in PPL and am happy in its distribution in my different accounts. Thanks, Bill

Q: I currently hold a 1.75% position in UBER and 2.65% position in CLBT, both in registered accounts. Considering selling UBER to top up CLBT to 4.4%. Can you please comment on comparative prospects for both (risk/reward) and indicate - if this were your portfolio - if you would be inclined to build a full position in CLBT. Thank you.

Q: We export 4,000,000 bls of oil a day to USA A 25 % tariff will increase the price of Gasoline by 25 Cents a Gallon . Americans do not want this.

The 25 % tariff is just to get our Governments attention to Pay the 2 % to NATO re Defense and Shut our Borders to Drugs and Illegal. Not a bad idea . We have to work at this .

We will have a Free Trade Policy with USA by January 20th 2025.
We will go it alone with no Mexico in our agreement

Q: I generally like and follow your advice when making an investment decision and own the balanced portfolio, plus many stocks in the other portfolios. But I strongly disagree with you on class A split shares, especialy ftn.I've used them for years and have made a great deal of money on them, for example I purchased ftn at around 7.50 paying 20% dividend,it now sits at 10.15!!They are definitely not a buy and hold stock, but can produce a massive amt. of income at times.Dfn used to be a favourite, but went through some tough times and is slowly recouvering!!But not to worry,I still value your advice on most everything else!!
