Q: Hi 5i
Can you assign a rank on the future potential for each of these companies on a scale of 1-10? 1 being dead in the water and 10 being amazing potential from current levels?
If you have 1-2 favs from this list, what makes them better than the rest?
Thanks!

Q: if the electrical grids have to be beefed up to accommodate charging many more EVs , what infrastructure electrical companies { power lines & transformers }and parts suppliers{ charging stations } that are publicly traded ,could be considered a wise investment with lots of future upside ?
Q: I see GIC’s rates in Canada are gradually moving towards 3%. With talk of BOC successive rate increases - I am dreaming of 4-5% GIC rates as a possibility by year end. My questions is this. Is there a traditional benchmark ratio relationship between the prime rate and the average GIC rate? In other words, if prime gets to 3% or 3.5% - what might one expect GIC rates to do. Thanks in advance.
Q: with the Liberals aggressive agenda towards having many more EVs in Canada in the not too distant future , is there an auto parts manufacturer that is a maker of EV specific parts that will have good upside potential if this agenda is do able.

Q: Thank you for your quick response to my previous question about this stock. As a follow-up question, given its high valuation, what would you consider to be a reasonable 'buy' price for this stock?
I find valuation to be the most difficult metric to figure out and have over-paid for some now hard-hit stocks in the past so I know valuation needs to be considered carefully. Thanks again,

Q: I had planned on removing both of these stocks after 5i discontinued them. Unfortunately, I waited too long on and am now down 75% on REAL and 10% on GUD. I heard a speaker on BNN Bloomberg recently say that it is too late to sell stocks that declined since the fall 2021. My question is - should I continue to hold these stocks if I don't plan to use the cash from their sale to purchase anything new (they will stay in cash)? Is there any hope that they can improve?
thanks as always for your help

Q: in your response to Dano on Feb 22nd/22, you recommended a 15% financial weighting which is lower than the TSX weighting. Could you explain why you recommend not going over 15%? also, do you think there is more upside to BNS and other financials in a rising rate environment. I have been reading conflicting views.
thanks
thanks
Q: Hi 5i
Due to unfortunate domestic circumstances my son has just had to sell his house. His net share after the dust clears is $80,000. He has signed a lease on a rental for one year, but plans to buy a new place of his own after the year is up. He has a good job, and all his expenses for the year ahead will be taken care of by salary. His intent is to use the 80k and whatever growth / income it can generate over the coming year to put down on a new home.
My thought is he should put half into BNS and half into ENB and then forget about it for the year and let the money do some work.
But I'd really like to know, based on the facts above, what you would do if you were in his shoes?
Thanks 5i - I will value your response. $75,500 of the $80k could go into a TFSA - he has that room.
Peter

Q: Hello 5i,
My overall portfolio weighting in energy has grown to 20.49% and I am looking to trim and/or get out of a position in the next few weeks/months.
I currently hold SU 9.62%, TOU 4.74%, PXT 1.11%, KEY 1.07%, ENB 3.95%.
Leaning towards selling my entire position on PXT and some of SU but would appreciate your opinion. I still have a high conviction in the energy sector but I am uncomfortable with my overall weighting in it. Would greatly appreciate your thoughts and how you would rank each stock to each other.
I am also underweight in industrial/healthcare/utilities and looking to purchase a stock in those sectors with whatever i sell in energy. Would appreciate a recommendation in each of those sectors.
Please deduct credits for above as you see fit and thank you again for all that you do.

Q: Hi 5i team, Can I get your take on this Formula One Media company? I’m a big Formula One fan and with other teams challenging Mercedes for the championship now and a great Netflix doc exposing it to more fans, it is becoming more competitive and fan base seems to be growing. They have added a second US race location this year and are planning to add Las Vegas as the third US location at some point - all to meet growing excitement for the sport.
They also list Sirius XM in their business portfolio.
I’m a growth investor with a long timeline and I’m ok with volatility. I’m thinking of it as a more speculative stock with a small part of my portfolio. Your insights as to FWONA growth prospects, financial stability and share price valuation are much appreciated.

Q: I'm thinking of adding LGO and/or CCO to my Material's group. Currently I hold AEM and KRR for an overall 3% weighting. I've been burned on the Material's group in the past so once bitten twice shy as they say. However I can see uranium supply from the "Free World" being in demand beyond any resolution to the war in Europe. LGO seems a more specialized company which maybe stands outside the war crucible. Any thoughts on what to do? I'll still be able to sleep at night with a 6% weighting even though I may wake up at 2:30AM...but I'm doing that anyways!
Thanks,
Perplexed (Jim)

Q: Hi, Banks have been decimated over past 3-4 days, perhaps, over the risk seen with an inverting yield curve. A guest on BNN explained that banks make money by borrowing through short term and lending for long term. Short and Long term interest rates spread, contracting to its lowest point, over past couple of weeks, it has caused some anxiety among investors, while, generally market has favored financials due to expectations of rising rates, resulting in higher profits. Do you subscribe to this thesis of inverting yield curve and like that Portfolio Manager, on BNN, is it time to consider reducing exposure to financials ? I would appreciate your comments on this theory and if any action is warranted. Thanks so much
Q: Topicus has a press release revealing they are going to buy a tech firm that creates vertical market software for numerous markets in Poland. I’ve converted the $ to USD because I don’t understand the currency:
Offer price: $61 million
Annual revenue: $38 million
P/S multiple: 1.6X
Free cash flow per annum: $5.5 million
1) What do you think of the deal?
2) Did Constellation Software ever buy a public company? If so, when and what was the name or names?
Thanks for the great service.
