Q: hi,
I currently own all 3, all with reasonable gains. I read recently that T and BCE have done most of their finer line bailouts, Rogers not so much. this tilts the tables significantly I assume towards T and BCE. I plan to sell Rogers, and add the proceeds to T and BCE. does this sound OK? and do you feel it is ok to have a 5% position in each of T and BCE now? cheers

Q: 5i Team, could you comment on following related to ECN, I have a full position on ECN averaging around 10% above current levels. I plan to double down on ECN in another registered account at this level, please comment
On a scale 1 to 10 what are the chances this stock going to zero, like what happen to XBC recently
Current ECN price levels are due to market sentiment to the stock or tax loss selling
On a scale 1 (riskier) to 10 (rewarding) what do you recommend members do at this price level
Comments on interest rate and ECN margins and profit

Q: It would seem that everyone is recommending BEP and yet it is on a continuous downtrend and if I compare it to other renewable such as NEE its not looking to good. Your thoughts on this company and why we should invest in it. Thanks
Q: What are your current thoughts on JWEL?
I am concerned about their growth in China. What would happen if China invaded Taiwan and the Canadian government bans investing in China in retaliation?
Appreciate your thoughts on the current stock price, future stock price and the China question.

Q: Is it better to hold US stocks in a brokerage account instead of a TFSA?

Q: Selling adbe for tax loss can you suggest a proxy

iShares NASDAQ 100 Index ETF (CAD-Hedged) (XQQ)
-
Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD)

INVESCO QQQ Trust (QQQ)

Vanguard Information Technology ETF (VGT)
Q: I am down on all of these by about 20%. If I sell them for a tax-loss harvest, what should I do for proxies? Also, since I have no capital gains for 2022, should I sell these stocks/ETFs in January to avoid a jump in stock price before the end of the year (as tax-loss harvesting season ends)?
Q: After around 3 years holding I find myself at breakeven again, been mostly underwater on this company. Do you guess recent momentum will continue?
Q: With the Horizon announcement that there are 2 (named) possible acquirers (by Jan.23/23), would you wait or, after the recent jump, take the money and run?
Q: How much debt does Topicus have as compared to CSU? Topicus seems to be willing to use debt more?
Thx Blake

Q: Similar to another question today, I am thinking of selling Summit, but waiting until the new year to delay the tax hit on my capital gains. But - isn't the buyout price $23.50? With the current stock price at about $22.50, there should be about a $1/share gain by waiting for the buyout, compared to about 30 cents of lost dividends between now and then. Am I missing something? Do you think it is better to sell immediately in the new year and move into something else, or wait for the actual buyout?
Thank-you, Grant

Q: Which are the best vehicles for positioning a portfolio for any anticipated Indian growth?
Q: Your thoughts and comments please. Seems they are going in the right direction but market showing the opposite. What am I missing? Is it the hurricanes?
Q: Retired, dividend-income investor. I harvested some ZRE related tax losses in my Cash account in October. I am now rebuilding a position in my wife's TFSA. I was planning on 3 tranches, every second month (using your suggested "spread out your investments over a 6 month period). I bought my first wave a week ago.
Now that Chairman Powell has made his recent remarks about the potential slowdown in the rate of interest rate increases, does this change your thoughts about the pace of investing new monies into the market? Would you endorse accelerating the injection of new $$$....specifically for ZRE?
Thanks...Steve

Q: Me, pondering buy CIBC CDRs to top up US positions as the Canadian dollar is about 0.74 rather higher at say .80 FX exchange. Then later, when the FX trade out of the CDRs and then invest in the require stocks. The CDRs will me held in TFSA and LIF and perhaps a few in trade account.....What are the pros and cons of this approach???
Also, on the CDRs web site, the NAV of each CDRs is shown. What are the elements or components included in calculated for the NAV?.....For example, is it the final price of the day for the stock adjust for FX at that time and then also the hedging fee?........Thanks for the assistance and learning too!!!..........Tom
