Q: It was mentioned that these ETFs use a "synthetic call option strategy". I don't know what that is. Can you explain in more detail

I don't like to own something I don't understand as I wouldn't know when to sell it. What would be a trigger to sell these ETFs?

Can you also explain the risks associated with owning something like this. Is the high yield (11%) a red flag?

And which account (Non-registered, TFSA, RRSP) are these best held in.

Q: When advising children who are young adults on building a portfolio in RRSP, do you recommend ETFs or individual stocks? Assuming one isn't buying and selling what individual stocks (4 in US and 4 in Canada) do you feel will still be around in 50 years and work well in a Gen Z RRSP portfolio. I imagine in 50 years, technology could be vastly different, but a bank or a rail will not disappear. Thank you!

Q: How would the shares of TSLA.NE, or other large cap tech US CDR's (eg NVDA.NE, CRWD.NE, PLTR.NE...) , be treated in the event of a corporate transaction such as a takeover or merger. Would shares of the CDR be treated the same as the US shares with respect to any capital gains or shares in a new entity?

Thanks

Q: I was reading through the questions on this company, (which was only one question). I caught a piece on BNN, the other day, in which the I got the impression they are building a plant in the USA. So what in your option of the company now and are they going to have to go out and dilute the stock in order to build the plant. I presume the company is not making any money. So any information you could give towards this company I would appreciate.
Thank you for your good service
Earl

Q: Struggling with strategy within this market. Does one ride the momentum trade of stocks tied to data centre build out with huge valuations that go up every day, or does one look at a hated sector like healthcare and slowly pick away? Seems like every time there is something negative, like the Open AI news, the hot stocks sell off, but then people quickly go back to those. What should the strategy be- pick away at unloved quality or wait for the odd pullback and choose things that have the momentum? Thanks for your wisdom.

Q: I own only 1 ETF (XQQ @ 10% of my portfolio). I'm looking to move to owning 3-5 ETFs to cover the broad market and then pick away at a few individual stocks for some extra growth.

Which few ETFs would you recommend to hold for 'adequate' and 'broad' market coverage. Note that I'm looking to hold 40-60% of my portfolio in these ETFs.
