Q: Imperial oil has posted this on June 21st:
Imperial Oil Limited today announced it has received final acceptance from the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) for a normal course issuer bid (NCIB) to repurchase up to five percent of its 764,221,735 outstanding common shares as of June 13, 2019,....
The value of their has not moved much for the last few years. I would like your thoughts about this company.
Q: Hi Team
What do you think about the take over offer? The cynic in me thinks that they let the price fall and then came out with this offer at multi year lows. Who knows want the "true value " is, so many different opinions. With the insiders that put in the offer having 57% of the shares is it not just a slam dunk for them, they can ramrod through anything that they want?
Thanks
Auftar
Q: CVE and MEG are considerably under-performing the energy sector this week, I'm guessing partially due to investors are doing some profit-taking since the TMX just got announced as the market has been hoping for. I have some decent unrealized gain in CVE and MEG, and noticed WCP was down a lot this Monday on unusual high volume, do you think it's a good idea to swap my energy holding from either MEG or CVE into WCP?
Q: I have received an inheritance and looking for your top picks in all 11 sectors of the TSX with your % of each sector.
Mostly looking for dividends and a little growth, can handle some risk holding long term and will be sublimating my retirement with the dividends. Just want to be diversified with my equity holdings.
Q: Quite a few analyst think that ENB will drop to about 41 Dollars !
Your thoughts please !
I avoided a haircut when I sold at $50.50
I don't like to buy in and get shaved!
Q: Good morning, could I please have your opinion on Evertz latest quarter. Do you see room for capital appreciation or do you still like primarily for income?
Thanks

Q: Hi again,
In my previous question, 'CMD' was supposed to refer to Cantel Medical, not Commander Resources. Any insight into Cantel? Sorry about the confusion! Thanks again.

Q: Over the last year I have been trying to follow some 5i stocks using your philosophy of buy and give it a chance as long as the fundamentals are there. I had a full posn (4%) in TSGI (one example) which is down by 54% now. Normally I would have sold as soon as there was indication of troubles or momentum went out of the stock. I think Ryan indicated he thinks the owners will figure it. Yet some of the responses I'm reading are not too sure. Can you firm it up a bit?
Q: It is possible that next year we may have a minority's govt. in Ottawa between the liberals and ndp. As there is too much govt debt and the ndp will want to increase social spending and perhaps block any pipeline expansion they will need to increase tax revenue.one way would be to increase the capital tax from 50%.We are in our early 80s and were long term investors ,have large capital gains. Does it make sense for us to sell our equities with a view to repurchase them back using the net after tax proceeds? After all eventually we or our estate will have to pay the tax.
