Q: of all the companies listed, I currently have the same percentage of holding that is in the 5i portfolio. Which of these stocks would you be comfortable buying today and making it a 4-5 % holding as I have some cash and would like to average down. I am a young investor with a long horizon as these stocks are all in my RRSP.
Thanks

Q: WEF has dropped even after NAFTA agreement.
Lumber prices look like it has recovered from the bottom
but lumber stocks continue to drop. Is there any
reason for this?

Q: This is kind of a followup on your reply Sept 28. I think that these are cyclical stocks which are best bought when the sector is out of favor and depressed. Are they still buys this late in the cycle? Is the selloff of 1/3 just a retracement before another leg up, or is it over and time to clear out? To you what indicates when this lumber cycle is over?

Q: I am getting beat up by the above companies --all down 20 to 27%.
I am not comfortable with these kind of losses--usually bail out around 10%
Which proves to be a mistake sometimes.
What is your reccomendation SELLor HOLD and for how long if you are suggesting I hold.
Thanks
Peter

Q: Regarding the above companies, do you see any short term catalysts or is a modicum patience required? I know I Just answered the question.
I deployed my available cash on the dips and am hopeful of a return back to the prices before the dips.
While I know averaging down is not the smartest strategy, it was too hard to resist.
I took a chance on ATD on the dip and it went well. Now I think I am brilliant. Will one ever learn not to try and outguess the market?
Thanks for the sage advise over the last two years!
I eagerly await the new selections for the growth portfolio!
Finall, my wife has just retired and has a LIRA setup. The Company that is handling it scrapes off approximately $600 a month to administer it. She is not drawing on it until we are both retired. I would like to invest it based on the recommendations from 5i. We have a 5 year timeline until I am retired with a DB pension. Do you recommend the income portfolio, or a blend of all three folio’s, or to remain in the global balanced fund paying fees?
Beat Regards,
KC

Q: A wildfire does not "burn" all trees, they will be cut no matter how they will sale, probably adding pressure to prices. I think we have seen this scenario with the beetles a few years ago.
I am right?

Q: I purchased a 1/2 position in WEF a month ago, and I am now down 10%. I haven't seen any reports from any of the forestry sectors, about how the wild fires have affected production. Have there been any?
Thank you so much, Susan

Q: Hello,
I have held WEF for sometime and am up nicely despite decline. I have room to add to my position without compromising balance and wonder if you like it hear? It seems to be under performing WFT, IFP, CFP ...any explanation as to why?
Thanks!

Q: Hi 5i - I dont have much exposure to materials in my portfolio. Should I add to my 2% position in WEF or is there another stock you prefer at the moment? Thanks, Neil
Q: Hey guys, really enjoyed Peter on BNN the other day. Loved the bit about CEOs being psychopaths, that was hilarious! Always nice to see a bit of light hearted humor these days.
Anyways, I bought into TSGI and WEF in the last couple of months. Unfortunately they've gone straight down! They're both down around 12% from where I bought them. I'm not a short term guy but I'm just curious if you still think that they have a good long term view. Thanks for all your great advice over the years.

Q: Hi Peter,
I am considering taking a small position in wef and zcl. Recently, both stocks have been in a downward trend. Would this be a good time to start acquiring these stocks or should I wait?
Looking forward to hearing your opinion.

Q: Re OSB announcing a "dividend of $4.5/share to shareholders of record Sept 1"
....I can't tell whether that is meant to be an ANNUAL or ONE TIME dividend?
.. Are you able to clarify?
Also, could you please comment on the listed stocks...which do you hold most favourable and why, also the suitability of purchase of any of these NOW
Thank-you

Q: Hello,
Current portfolio is well balanced. Two sectors that are eligible for tops ups are materials and consumer discretionary. If you had to pick between wef and cliq for a long term hold, which would you choose to buy first?
