Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Parex has initiated a strategic review for sale of one asset - perhaps the entire business. Yesterday, market original reaction was positive. Today down sharply. You indicated in an earlier comment this was a positive development. I cannot find any new news on this story to warrant the sell off.

What are your thoughts? This company is well managed, no debt and huge cash balance, long life assets, and still reasonably valued. This is not like Spartan or Raging River where consolidation needs to take place. New pro business government in Columbia without pipeline issues. What gives here? If you held this name would sell, hold or buy more?

Q: I have no energy exposure in my portfolio since 2014. I sold all of WCP, RRX, VET, SGY late 2014 and never went back. I am thinking about gradually stepping back into energy but not in a hurry or big way. I am a growth investor and have no issue with risks. Should I buy CNQ, SU etc big names or stay with smaller ones like WCP, VET etc. or just use an ETF like XEG? Thanks.

Q: Good morning everyone. I am interested in buying a few different energy stocks. I’m in my early senior years - but do not mind some risk.
Have room in my TFSA and RSP accounts.
Enjoy your diligent reporting and investigation

Q: Energy Sector - I am hearing that in 2020 the IMO will be enforcing ban on ships that use fuel with higher sulfur content. To take advantage of this can you recommend refiners that will benefit as well those oil companies producing more light oil. Thanks AJD

Q: Maybe - we're really going to see a sustained positive - ongoing movement in the Cdn. oil patch. That said, I'm looking short term (1 yr) for a bite into several undervalued stocks, particularly where leverage is large. Would appreciate your comments on these in order of preference as well as any others. Thank you.

Q: Hi there,

I've been out of oil for a few years now. In your opinion is now the time to get back in? Is there legs behind the recent rally? I was looking at Yangarra and Parex - do you prefer one over the other? Or another name entirely?

Thank you!

Q: I am under the impression that energy may be starting to rebound with the price of oil continuing to rise, and the outlook looking better for pricing. Gas prices are also getting very high in Canada. I have holdings in ENB, ENF, and BIR. Are than any others you would recommend, in Canada or the US, or perhaps an international energy etf, that might recover very well? I can pull some cash out of ENF to avoid being sector overweight.

Thanks
