Q: Hi, I've held ISRG for a few years now, am up 25% but was honestly expecting more. It's traded largely sideways since Sept of 2018. 5i and I both seem to have similar (great) expectations for this company, but they just can't break $620 or so.
I'm tempted to dump ISRG and pick up some IHI which includes a number of other seemingly great companies that are on my watch list. However, I keep thinking ISRG is on the brink of its next big leg up. From my research, I have ISRG at the bottom of its long term channel - which if it holds - would have stock price growth at 40% from here...
Help me decide: hold (even add) to ISRG, or dump it and pick up IHI. Perhaps a bit of column A and column B?
Q: Hi Peter and Staff
Ready to dump Gilead (have PZE and JNJ) and put some $ into medical devices.
Please compare the merits of MDT vs STY and choose one with reason for doing so.
From stats I can see MDT is much more expensive and has a better chart to be sure.....all good if it earns and draws down the multiple I guess.
Thanks for all you do
Dennis
Q: Could you please give me a couple of suggestions for US Healthcare stocks. will be held in a RRSP account. I only have Guardant (Small position) at the moment. Thanks
Q: Hey guys. Looking for some health care exposure..... Already have some cannabis ownership so no need to add there. Canadian and US recommendations with strong balance sheets and some growth potential? Long term holder likely buying in an RRSP. Thank you!
Q: Good afternoon,
Looking to add US healthcare to my portfolio. I would appreciate your thoughts and ranking on the following US healthcare and service providers; MCK, BDX, SYK, UNH, HUM and MDT. I am open to other recommendations.
Thank you,
Patrick
I'm sitting with a 15% gain in Parklawn. I believe I bought on advice read hear so thank you. My question is whether it should continue to be held in a balanced portfolio or if you would exit a 5% position because a better opportunity exists elsewhere? To go one step further, I have done well on Medtronic and might like additional exposure to US healthcare. Could you recommend a) whether to sell PLC and b) what you might shift to if you agree with my alternative above?
Q: Good morning,
I would like to add a US health care name to my portfolio. Considering MDT or SYK. Which do you prefer or do you have a better idea? I currently own IHI.
Thanks, Dennis
Q: Hi Everyone at 5i! I am in the process of reducing the number of holdings in my US portfolio . I own several related to healthcare. I just recently sold off my JNJ at a profit. I am under water on CAH and WBA. I propose to sell CAH and WBA at a capital loss to offset my gain on JNJ. I intend to keep MDT. Does this seem reasonable to you?. Cheers, Tamara
Q: As the opportunity arises, I need to lessen my overweight position in SIS. Would SYK be an attractive substitute in a sector that, like SIS, is right for the times as the general population ages and are increasingly in deteriorating physical shape. Is there any other company with these dynamics that I should look at?
Q: Good morning,
Can you please comment on the effects if any of the Huawei ban and its effect on Verizon, and would you purchase here? Also, see MDT is up today on no apparent news - would you still purchase at these levels?
Please feel free to deduct 2 credits for 2 questions,
Thank you.
