Q: Does a LIRA have the same tax rules for US dividends as an RRSP? I understand RRSP is better than TFSA for US stocks.

Brookfield Renewable Partners L.P. (BEP.UN $35.65)
-
Brookfield Renewable Corporation Class A Exchangeable Subordinate Voting Shares (BEPC $46.73)
Q: The drop in price in the last couple weeks for these two stocs has been considerable. Is there something more than the Texas problem involved here? Is its present price attractive for the next few years? I sorryfully missed your praise for Magna a couple months ago by bidding somwhat lower when it was $68.

Q: Hello Peter,
I have several 'half positions' in my TFSA and new cash to top up a few. While I know these are very different companies (APR.UN, AVLR, EGLX, PHO, XBC, FVI and ENGH), if you were investing with a 5 year time frame and had a 7 or 8 out of 10 comfort level with risk, in what order would you top these up, with the goal of best total return (not necessarily 'home runs'). Thanks in advance!

Q: I realize they are completely different sectors but which has more upside for a two year hold, TOU or ATD.A. Thanks
Q: I purchased Aston Martin's stock around 6 months ago, and I'm currently up 100%. I believe in the new investors, which is the reason I purchased the stock in the first place. That being said, I know the company has many hurdles to jump through moving forward. Can I please have your opinion on Aston Martin's current valuation compared to other automotive companies. Thank you.
Q: There's a really good new book out on investment psychology, by Morgan Housel, called, "The Psychology of Money." His writing style is very accessible.
Q: What are the advantages or disadvantages in buying an ETF with a CDN hedge tilt ? When would you do it and when would you not do it ?
Q: Would the news "Fisker Partnering with iPhone Supplier Foxconn on New EV" is bad to Magna? Because Magna already signed an agreement with Fisker to help it build Ocean SUV. Is there any connection between this two news? How will Magna be affected here? thank you!
Q: can you comment on this company for US exposure in the growth side of a portfolio of a long term investor? Or is it too risky
Thanks
Thanks
Q: The earnings were a beat and I know that there is growing US interest in the company. Your thoughts on whether it is worth a long term hold. It also pays a dividend which it increased this year.
Q: In answer to Dan's question about "light" reading on the topic of Investment psychology, might I also suggest David Dreman's "Psychology and the Stock Market: Investment Strategy Beyond Random Walk." For the subject, I found it fairly accessible.
Q: Is there any light reading you can suggest on the topic of Investment psychology? Thanks.

iShares Core Canadian Corporate Bond Index ETF (XCB $20.22)
-
iShares Core Canadian Government Bond Index ETF (XGB $19.21)
Q: I own these two bond ETfs inside a balanced portfolio. My understanding as the bond yields rise the price goes down, along with the price of my dividend stocks. Seems like a double whammy. Im trying to figure out if there is anything I should do here. Happy to hold the bond ETFs and collect higher distributions. Your thoughts please.
Q: Good morning. I'm trying to decide on whether to add to my existing KXS or start a new position in either DND or TOI. I have a long time frame. Are the prospects for DND/TOI compelling enough to start one or even two new positions or should I just build on KXS, which you suggested way back and which has been a stellar performer.
Q: With interest rates moving up on growth optimism, do you like CVD as part of your fixed income allocation. Seems it might hold up better than other bond funds and it pays a decent yield. I'm also considering ZPR in the fixed income side for the same reason. If this is two questions, please deduct accordingly. Thanks.

iShares Core MSCI All Country World ex Canada Index ETF (XAW $46.67)
-
BMO MSCI All Country World High Quality Index ETF (ZGQ $70.43)
Q: Hi 5i,
Could you explain why you prefer XAW over ZGQ. I understand XAW has no Canadian exposure but ZGQ has much better returns and only .85% of the ETF is exposed to Canada.
Thanks
John

Dollarama Inc. (DOL $189.67)
-
Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. (ATD $70.18)
-
Premium Brands Holdings Corporation (PBH $87.11)
Q: I am a 3-5 year medium and long term investor. I need to increase my position in Consumer Staples by about 3%. I currently hold ATD 3% and PBH 3% are in my taxable account. I have full confidence in the management of ATD but I now wonder if their business model has not changed a bit compared to the company I bought a few years ago.
1- If the electrification of transport raises from 2 to 10% within 3-5 years, how many customers will ATD lose?
2- If you have an electric car will you wait 15 minutes to recharge your battery in a convenience store?
3- Can ATD still grow by buying competitors at attractive prices?
4- Will future growth come in less profitable areas such as grocers and if so the P.E. will drop.
What do I do? Can you help me sort this out?
Buy more ATD? Add DOL? Add a little to the 2 already owned and add DOL, not DOL...
I'm lost.
Thank you.
Yves

Q: Can you name some Canadian ETF's which will benefit from the switch into materials or oil and gas or value rather than growth and safety? And can you rank them please? And give reasons for buying or not buying?
I know that's a lot to ask but I am interested in your assessment
Thanks for your help as usual
