Q: i am negative on above 5 companies. Do you recommend I keep all 5 or should I sell all or some, resp. sell and replace with other companies in the sector, such as Whitecap, Parex, SU and others?

I am primarily looking for growth.

Alternatively to energy companies what are the best Canadian growth companies you recommend. Thanks. Klaus

Q: With growth and upside being the case for buying stocks with no earnings and having a lot of them losing 80% in value over buying a stock with good earnings and less growth, is it the same story now for investors to buy the growth stocks that they may be down 80% and hope that the stock can come back when the market gets overpriced again, or lower your greed and be happy with a 10% yearly return.

Q: From my years of investing, I can say that whenever I take a position larger than 5% of my portfolio, I have come to regret it. The larger position occurs either because I averaged down or became so enamoured by the company that I bought more shares. There are so many unknowables about a company that is not run by yourself, that pleasant and surprising adverse events are equally possible. The beauty of the stock market is that you can invest in 20 good conviction companies at 5% position each and really limit the damage of the adverse events. And if you can't find 20, keep the powder dry for the next nice find.
