Please give your opinion of both these U.S, companies.

Q: Recently the Globe & Mail has an article discussing the merits of using a one-Balanced ETF strategy and recommended the following three ETFs: VBAL, CBD and HRA. What would you consider to be the best one? Also, when I reviewed the information on their respective websites, I can only find Management Fee info as opposed to MER info. Is it because they are all ETFs that are composed of various ETFs. So the ultimate MER of these balanced ETFs would be the sum of the quotes Management Fee plus the MER of the underlying ETFs?

Q: To follow-up on Claire's comment, is there an reasoned/optimal % allocation to each FI ETF (i.e. evenly split)? I have: CBO 20%, CPD 12%, HFR 26%, XBB 17%, XHY 12%, LQD 13%. I consider HFR as low-risk cash-like holding.

Q: Hi Peter,
Any idea why BTL group is surging so much this week given that a week ago it was in the dumps? Is this still very speculative play? Why is Covalon continuing to experience declines? Also, with Cannibis stocks taking a hit (not clear why) would be a good time to add to HMMJ with Canopy Growth being one of the largest holdings or is it better to just put the money in Canopy Growth given its relationship with Constellation Brands? Thanks very much.

Morgan Stanley published a 104-page research report selecting 15 technology companies that will dominate the next stage of data-driven advancement,

“Every 10 years a new computing cycle emerges … Today we are at the beginning of a new cycle centered on data. The combination of more advanced semiconductor technologies, more pervasive and faster networks, and significant cloud-based data center expansion enables a new wave of data technologies. This is the first computing cycle in which multiple technologies are emerging at once - Internet of Things (IoT) connects and collects data from end points, Artificial Intelligence (AI) unlocks insights from the growing amount of stored data, Virtual or Augmented Reality (VR/AR) allows insights to be viewed in a worker’s natural environment, and Automation supplements human work with computers.”

The report lists NVIDIA Corp., Cisco Systems, Alphabet Inc., and Dassault Systemes SA among the biggest winners.

Q: I am looking at these two small cap companies as an entry in to the aviation sector. Both pay a nice dividend. Please comment on the secureness of their dividend; quality of their balance sheet; growth prospects and company specific issues ( ie EIF short position).

Q: I am under the impression that energy may be starting to rebound with the price of oil continuing to rise, and the outlook looking better for pricing. Gas prices are also getting very high in Canada. I have holdings in ENB, ENF, and BIR. Are than any others you would recommend, in Canada or the US, or perhaps an international energy etf, that might recover very well? I can pull some cash out of ENF to avoid being sector overweight.

Q: If Kinder Morgan Pipeline does not get built and our Canadian Cabinet does not step in to have it built what effect will this have on foreign investment coming to Canada. On BNN today it stated that Canadian Stock Market ranks 77th in the World performance. This is due to lack of interest in our Stock Market. Are we getting to a point where we are Closed for Business and we should be 100 % invested outside of Canada in USA, Europe and Emerging Markets until we regain our senses. RAK

Q: I hold this stock on the Canadian side of my portfolio in Canadian $
TD in their tax package has listed it as a US holding
When I bought originally ( on 5i recommendation in 2015? ) I thought it was a Canadian stock
Td has said because it's incorporated in US it's considered a foreign holding although the headquarters is in Canada
Is this correct? That it has to be listed on the T1135
Form ?
