Q: When using a monthly stock chart does 200/12=16.7 equate to the period value to replace the 200 simple moving average on a daily stock chart? Thank you
Apologies if I missed the answer when I searched, but I found it difficult to find my answer when I looked for a U$ dollar equivalent to "CASH." What would you suggest 3 - 6 months hold??? OR is there a U$ ETF representing GICs?
Q: Hi Peter and 5iresearch team
I don't have any exposure to materials. I have XBM and LIT on my list.
1. Is now a good time to start investing in materials?
2. Would you consider other ETFs/stocks (US or CAD) that must be held as a first step investing in materials?
Thank you
Q: Based on quarterly results the Premarket movement downward seems excessive. If you wanted cybersecurity exposure and you only had a position in CRWD would you add to CRWD or start a position in PANW?
Q: I own 3 of the big 7, Apple, Amazon and Nvda and manage the positions for weighting. I would like to own Microsoft and/or Google. Please suggest if you think it's necessary to expand to one or both of these, and if better to have a half position in both, or full position in one or both considering the other holdings. Thanks!
Q: Vrt announced results, looked strong to me but shares off 10% in premarket. Pls comment on results and reasons for market reaction. Is this an opportunity to get into Vrt at better price, or has bloom come off this rose?
Q: ".. priced US$400 million aggregate principal amount of 7.625% senior unsecured notes due 2029" ..... "goeasy intends to use the proceeds from the sale of the Notes to partially repay indebtedness under its secured facilities and for general corporate purposes"
I suspect they are just taking care of business here. I thought their debts were not particularly large considering their business. Thoughts or reassurances plse.
Q: Your opinion on the outlook for this company. I have owned for many many years and am now in a loss position. It is not a large holding in my portfolio and wondering if I should sell and move on. If one was to sell, what would be a replacement suggestion?
Q: II would like to buy NTR for long term hold but I am concerned about BHP,s possible opening of a potash mine in Canada, what are your thoughts please?
Q: Please help me pair one of the noted consumer discretionary stocks with ATD. I am looking for growth at a reasonable valuation with consistent returns for a 5 year hold. Could you rank the 4 stocks in accordance with my selection criteria. Thank you
Q: Some analysts I follow believe industrials will move as counties turn away from globalization . Reading through your previous answers you seemed to like ph and itw. I am looking for companies that already are positioned well and growing their earnings. Is there any other companies that could do well under this scenario ?
Q: I have a partial position in BN and no position in KKR. Noticed huge run-up in KKR over past year, and good prospects for KKR this year. If you had new funds to invest in one of them, what is your advice.
Thanks
Q: The AI fields are currently very much the talk of the tech world. Do you have names of Canadian companies active in the AI fields, other than OTEX, we can check out as names of interest for potential investment? Thanks.
Q: I currently hold XMC in my unregistered account as I want exposure to the S&P Midcap 400 index. However, as you pointed out in your response to a recent question, the MER at 0.61% is quite high. Do you recommend an equivalent ETF that trades in the US that I could buy instead? Are there any disadvantages to replacing a Canadian listed ETF with a US listed ETF in an unregistered account (other than realizing tax on the capital gain upon the disposition of XMC)? Thanks as always.
Q: Your take please. Happen to be checking out Ci direct investing asset management for a managed portfolio. They have declining management fee starting at .6% On the first 150k and so on 500k it would be .4%.and if you chose the balanced portfolio you would get the portfolio fund mentioned above. This would be at an expense of an additional 2.92% for the Nicola core portfolio fund. Can this make any sense if a person wanted a legacy portfolio. Your valued opinion please and any advice on a better alternative? Basically do you think this fund is worth it? Tks Larry
