Q: Peter, I am considering buying one of these ETF's. HXS is quite small vs XSP but it has had much returns over the past 5 years. I would have thought that the returns of both would have been quite similar as they are designed to track the S&P 500.

Q: My broker has recommended to sell BHY.un The fund allows an Annual Redemption Privledge at Nav.once a year In May NAV was $ 7.67 It is currently trading at $ 7.33

He said it was also loosing dividend tax credit status next year and all payouts will be classed as income

I bought this fund at $ 8.83 Could you give me your opinion on whether it is better to sell this fund

Q: I currently own PWF and down 18% and it is in a non rrsp account.I can write this loss with a gain in another stock in which I am over weight and wondered if SLF or FSZ would be a better replacement for PWF? I own no other stock in the insurance sector but own BNS and TD for the financial sector.

Q: You rate this as an "A"; but, when I check my info provided by CIBC Investors Edge: debt/Equity is 2.8X, ROE is basically 0, P.R. is crazy high and P.E. equally so. They have issued a lot of common and preferred shares as well and must have a heck of a lot of non-cash write-offs which distort a lot of the metrics, I guess? What is the story on a pure cash basis then?

Q: My question is about "peak auto". I have not yet read any reliable source that shows auto sales heading for a slump. In your experience, have you seen "cheap" large caps like Magna fall 40% based on a "guess" that was repeated enough times in the media to convince everyone, a guess that ended up being wrong? It's hard to believe all this selling is based only on a guess about a "top". I am not seeing XTC or LNR executives buy their stock. At 6.5 times earnings, you'd think they would buy if they their EPS was projected to be maintained over the next 3 quarters!

Q: Good morning,

Can you give me your thoughts on lassonde industries. It is a company you do not hear much about but the historical stock performance has been impressive to say the least.What does the company's financials look like ( ie debt, yield,safety as well as future growth in dividend, payout ratio etc) as well as future growth for the company.

Would you recommend taking a position at this time.
