Q: Could I have your thoughts on JWEL please? Do expansion opportunities into the US (purchase of Nutrawise) change your previous coolness on the stock at all?

Are there other stocks in the sector you prefer?

Q: Hi 5i,

Following Eric Nuttall's appearance on Market Call on March 4th this year, I invested roughly equal amounts in the above six oil and gas companies on March 7th. (Coincidentally, another 5i member posted questions about the exact same six companies that day.). As of yesterday's close, the results have been a mixed bag, ranging from TOU up 52% to TVE down 25%. Overall, though, up about 6% (not counting dividends).

My investing style is generally to buy and hold quality companies for the long-term, while this oil and gas play was intended to be a bit more of speculative. What is your current opinion of these six companies? Would it be wise to sell any now?

Q: I am looking for advice on how to handle the small cap growth stocks in my TFSA. I find it more difficult to sell a stock rather than to buy it as either greed or ignorance or dismissal of all the relative facts get it in the way. For example , I rode EGLX all the way to nearly $10.00 only to watch it fall to its present price of my initial cost of around $ 1.90. The market was strong, it recently listed in the US, ; things were great but then they weren’t. I need some non emotional, logical tools with which to make selling price decisions on these more volatile stocks. A suggestion of some technical measurements for these types of stocks would be helpful.

I have considered a stop loss formula of say a certain % increase would trigger a certain % stop loss order. For example at a 50% increase I would implement a sell order at 10% below current price or a 100% increase ( to be so lucky again) would trigger a sell order of 20 %. Being human I would probably kick myself if watching a 100% gain ( actually only 80% if I used this formula )go on to a 150 % gain, only to be stopped out at a much lower price !

Q: Five years ago MFC was around $25 a share. Now shares are just under $23 a share. Not great!

Considering selling MFC and buying TSU thinking that TSU will outpace MFC in terms of future returns. Would you concur with this switch and if so, could you please provide some rationale for your views. Also would TSU be suitable for an income oriented account? Thanks.

Q: When you recommend good dividend paying stocks should we assume that these stocks regularly (i.e. annually) increase their dividends unless otherwise noted?

Q: Leaving other factors aside (eg taxes etc), within a well diversified portfolio would you be ok with selling CIX and TECK.b in favour of buying WCN and DOL? Basically I am asking if you think these latter two (at current valuations) might outperform the former in what I expect to be a somewhat moderate to deep recession? Thanks!

Q: Gold has been out of flavour during these inflationary times. Some say it’s because of Btc/Eth others say it’s because of rising rates etc.. there seems to be many conflicting factors. All of which are not clear. Can you give your take on gold and provide you 3 fave mid and small cap names. Thx.

Q: Often investors have different time frames and so called short medium and long term come a bit confusing depending on who you talk to. For speculators short term could be as short as a fraction of a day (day traders) for others long term investors are for 10 years and beyond. How about clarifying what for 5I is short, medium and long term (ballpark).
