Q: The fixed income portion of my portfolio is largely made up of high yield corporate Canadian bonds. Infrequently, during the past decade or so, a company will exercise its right to "call" one of my bonds, and an early redemption occurs. This past week, however, a high number of companies have called their bonds, many to be redeemed next month. The companies include Parkland Fuel, Russel Metals, Cascade, Air Canada, Superior Plus, Laurentian Bank, Sobeys, Cameco and Brookfield Asset Management. I am very puzzled as to why so many different bonds are being called at the same time? I also want to endorse a recent comment made by Lance about Hank Cunningham's book, which as very helpful in my early bond-investing days.

Q: Hi there,
I use VectorVest which is great for a lot of things but it does not allow to sort/filter based on RSI. I can't find a function anywhere that allows me to identify the most oversold stocks (aside from the Globe's once a week article). Do you know of a tool that can be used to sort and identify stocks based on RSI?

Thanks!

Q: Set to begin trading in New York on Feb 25th as of recent news. Had a nice bump yesterday. Can you give your thoughts on the following?
1. How does this stack up to bigger name producers in terms of value and potential? It is certainly less publicized
2. Looking back at other pot stocks that began trading in the US (2 i think?) what type of jump, if any, does the beginning of US trading have on prices?

Thanks!

Q: Hello Peter & Ryan, I am wondering why Crius simply said it received another unsolicited offer by a second company that was superior to the first one and offered that to explain the increase in the purchase price of the first offer. Do you find it unusual for Crius not to give us (the shareholders) the details of this second offer? Who was it from, was it all cash, was it a combination of cash and shares in their company etc... Maybe this information war released and I missed it? Thanks.
Mario.

Q: Your recent comments on DOO:
We think DOO is still good. Solid earnings growth is still expected, and at only 12X earnings investors are not expecting much. As rates rose investors shied away from the stock, but as rates peak (as long as jobs remain strong) we would expect confidence to return here. It has beaten estimates 8 quarters in a row and the last quarter's EPS beat by 6%.

My question:
Your comments don't suggest that the company has done anything wrong (quite the opposite really) and yet the stock has gone down by 50%. Unlike KXS, NFI, SIS, TSGI and others that had announcements that drove significant temporary declines, I can't see anything like that here. Is this stock therefore not being punished unfairly and ripe for rebound? To what do you attribute the wholesale abandonment of the stock? It would not seem that such strong selling pressure is warranted. What is the case against buying vs FOR buying?
