Q: We are looking to create a 'growth' portfolio using our TFSA accounts. This portfolio will represent a small portion of our overall investments. The portfolio will hold ~10 Canadian and ~10 US stocks. All purchases in the portfolio will be made with the intent to be long-term holds (10+ years).

Using the 5i research reports, model portfolios and Q&A section, we've selected the listed Canadian stocks. Please rank these stocks and suggest any tweaks, additions or subtractions, you might make. As well, please suggest a companion list of US stocks. Thanks!

Q: I'm aware of the decision to dispose of their oil & gas holdings and coupled with the market sentiment, resulting in a substantial price drop. With that drop the dividend yield has increased substantially. My questions are regarding the dividend.

1) Did they also announce anything regarding the dividend (i.e., are they cutting it)?

2) If no announcements, is it sustainable at current levels?

3) If there were no announcements and it's sustainable, does that not signal to the market the high probability of price appreciation back to a more normal dividend yield resulting in an opportune time for a short-term trade or a long-term investment?

Thank you.

Q: My question is about NVIDIA and the ARM Acquisition. How important do you feel the ARM deal is for NVIDIAS future and growth? If a headline came out that said the acquisition has been rejected, how do you feel the market would react short and long term? Based on the current information available, what do you think the likelihood the deal is accepted?

Q: I own these companies, some are doing great, and some I'm waiting to get my money back. I just sold TC energy, not really liking the direction it was heading and was thinking of buying enbridge. Did I do a mistake? Should I rebuy it? I'm looking for a 1 year hold. Or should I buy something different? In that case what do you recommend?
Thanks

Q: An equal number of shares of BAM and BAMR are being held in my portfolio. They have been considered economically equivalent, with a small premium on BAMR initially. Today, BAMR is performing much stronger than BAM.
What is the reason for disparity in the performance? Please kindly predict which one will have a superior performance for a longer term. Thank you for your great service. Bill.

Q: Would you consider VIAC a buy at today's price? Would debt still be a concern?

Thank you.

Q: Two parter, no wrong answers possible. In my TFSA I hold Descartes, Kinaxis, Shop and CAE amongst others. I have approx $2000 or .5% to invest in one or two of the four. They are all less than full positions. Suggestions?

Which of the following would you move from a cash account to the TFSA - AC, ATZ or ATD.B? I'm leaning toward AC currently.

Thanks in advance, sleepless nights have become a thing of the past based on my subscription to 5i. Service has been invaluable.

Q: Hi 5i,
I have been investing in my work-RRSP for a number of years and am somewhat lost in trying to define the proper calculation to track my progress. As an overly simplified example,
Year 1: invest $10k
Year 2: invest $5k
Year 3: invest $7k
Year 4: current value $30k

What kind of calculation would help me calculate the growth? Something like compound annual growth rate seems to only take the beginning and final values into account and I was hoping for something with a little more substance since I'd be continually adding to this fund every year.
