Q: Not much has happened in short term with respect to share price. Last quarter has seen a small sell off, but I don’t that that was material to longer term plans. Is this a good price to add more significantly
Q: What would your top ~5 recommendations be to build an RESP with an 10-15 year horizon.
Had to sell all positions to live the account and have a good pile of free cash currently to redeploy. Not dissatisfied with prior holdings but creates a moment to consider best options currently

Q: Just a follow-up to Les’ question about finding total returns for a company. Doesn’t the 5i interactive graph just show the percentage increase in share price, not total returns including dividends?

Q: As a followup to an earlier question on Maple Leaf Foods of August 26th is it likely the announced spinout of their Fresh Pork business will have tax implications for the shares i own in the form of Capital Gains? When new shares are issued when are shareholders typically advised of tax implications such spinoff would have for tax planning purposes?
I have owned shares for many years and previously worked in this Industry and companies in the Meat business typically display slow growth and cyclical price swings so am looking for an opportunity to dispose of part of my position. Would your inclination be to sell ahead of the issue of new shares or wait for the new shares and sell subsequent to the split?
It was always my belief that the only way to get this stock moving would be an outright sale or go Private plan by some of the controlling family. At current share prices would you agree neither look probable at this time or are the underlying reason for this re-organization of Maple Leaf?

Q: I was looking through the questions about this company, as the valuation seems out of whack. The current Orca Financials (as of June 30 2025, on their website), state that there are about 19.8 MM shares outstanding, which at the current share price ($3.56 CAD) suggests a market cap of $70.5 MM CAD. In one of your earlier discussions about Orca, I saw a Market cap quoted at $155 MM. Am I missing part of the math on this one ?
Q: Hello
Any reason why electrovaya is surging? A week ago Trump commented on possible reclassification if cannibis. However stocks like canopy are going up and down daily. Is it worth putting some money to work? Thank you

Neo Performance Materials Inc. (NEO $16.75)
Q: CDN margin account
I’m up 126% on NEO which is 14.7 % of portfolio.
US margin account
I’m up 187% on OR Royalties which is 85% of portfolio (total of two stocks).
TFSA
I’m up 78% on EIF; 34% of portfolio
I have enough capital loss carry forward to offset 100% of the accrued gains in the CDN and US margin accounts. What is your advice? Click on the “sell” button for the two margin account stocks? What about the TFSA EIF stock? Should one sell, trim down?
I would appreciate your comments/guidance.

Q: Good morning,
I was looking to buy some of a Canadian telecom stock and was wondering if you had any preference between Rogers, Telus, and Bell?
Thanks
Good morning,
Follow up to my previous question. Which company do you think would perform best in a higher inflation environment? Also do you think the the Telecom sector could perform well in an inflationary environment and what other sectors besides hard assets would perform well.
Thank you very much.

Q: Bond funds vs laddering of GICs.
The way I see it , the only time a bond fund MAY beat laddering is in a declining interest rate environment. I entered a number of bond funds { including from ETF newsletter } on the G & M watch list and see none of them even gained 3% over the past year. Predicting the direction of interest rates is futile at best. Other than for liquidity reasons please try and sell me on why bond funds should be purchased. Do you know of any study over the past 40 or so years that compared bond funds to laddering.
Thank you
Paul

Q: I’ve been holding BYD for a long long time and just again moved into the black and am positive on it by a few percent. I was stopped out of CLS at 150 and have not owned it since. My thought was sell Boyd and by Celestica what do you think of that trade?
In 5 years will I be happy I did it?
Please consider the trade on its own. Portfolio mix is fine
