Q: if the u.s. or canada eliminated the gas tax, this would cause less demand destruction as more people would drive as the price of gasoline would drop, hence supply would get even tighter-so my question is why is the price of oil down 5 dollars this am on this news. dave

Q: I bought NVIDIA years ago and have been considering trimming as I’m overweight, and now want to take advantage of stocks that have recently dropped. I am a long term investor focused on growth with medium-high risk, what 3-4 stocks Canadian and U.S. do you recommend to help compliment my holdings? My US holdings are GOOG, COST, ISRG, V and my CAD tech holdings are CSU, TOI, KXS, and STC.
Q: I have held BNS for some time and wonder if it is still worth holding onto. I was considering a switch to National Bank. What would be your rationale supporting this switch? And, on the other hand , why would you not make this move?
Q: I am relatively new to investing and started when the pandemic began. Since I started I feel like my learning has been like drinking from a fire hose. More of an education question: now that inflation continues to increase and central banks do what they can to slow it down, I am wondering under what conditions do central banks start to look at reducing interest rates again. I have never been through any of this before so trying to get a better understanding, especially as I look to buy a house at some point.

Q: TCN has been absolutely crushed in this market. Do you continue to like the company?
If so why? Would now be a reasonable time to acquire shares or would it be better to continue sitting on the sidelines until we see some signs of interest rates stabilizing? And what is your sense as to when this might happen?

Q: I purchase this stock in 2019 for 50.00 a share. It just keeps dropping and dropping.
With it now around 17.00 per share, is it finally a sell?
If so, is there another stock that could be purchased to hopefully make up some of the losses.
Thank you,
John G.

Q: This is a follow up to my previous question regarding impact on share prices if BOOK VALUE takes a hit at the end of Q 2.
My intent was to find out if there is any correlation historically between BOOK VALUE dropping and a proportionate drop in market value. (????)
Sorry for any confusion.
Thank you.

Q: DRM breezed through most of the last six months of market volatility, seeming nearly invulnerable in its steady upward movement. Then, at the beginning of April, it began a steady downward movement which has accelerated of late. It has lost 29% in the last 20 days, and 10% in just the last week. Is this decline in any way justified by events at the company or its debt level? Would you consider it expensive for its sector?
Q: It's interesting to think about "special situations" that arise in such a volatile economy. Let's say that with increasing mortgage rates coming, the rate of foreclosures is almost certainly going to increase. What are businesses that will do well in this case? In USA or Canada? I saw on social media someone mention ASPS, but curious of your take on the thesis and companies that could do well.
