Q: Good morning, I have a watch-list of vaccines, but it seemed like such a gamble in the past months, I didn't invest in any. Now that some are successful, I would like to have a position in at least one company. I've named a few above, but there are more. With the goal of growth in the next 1-2 years, which one or two "vaccine" stocks would you choose, and what percentage of the portfolio would you suggest as investment size. Thank-you.

Q: hello again
For my non canadian and non USA holdings, I have relied almost exclusively on VEA for the last two years with ok results. I'm wondering if the Asian markets ( China, Taiwan, Japan in particular) won't fare better in the coming years than will many other geographics. Do you think it wise to switch to a different ETF and if so, which would you suggest? thanks. Al

Q: Is MX a buy at today's prices or wait for tax loss selling to set in. I took a early tax loss and 40 days is up, missed the last 30 day run lol. Would like to add back at some point but can wait into 2021 or late 2020 for some tax loss pressure.
Q: Analysis of purchase? Also isn't torc a little more on the nat gas side. Does purchase improve whitecaps mix?
Q: Hi 5i
Regarding the deal announced this morning concerning TOG and Whitecap all stock deal, expected to close in Feb 2021.
"Under the deal announced on Tuesday, shareholders of TORC will receive 0.57 Whitecap shares in exchange for each TORC share, representing a discount of about 4.3% "
What is your opinion? Is this a good deal and should I continue to hold my position to receive Whitecap shares or sell and move on or does Whitecap present a good opportunity?
What is the likley hood offer could improve?
Thx
jim

Q: Hi Peter
With recent Concentrix spin out, Synnex got hard hit. What's your opinion on this stock at this Level? Is it a buy? Any growth potential?
Can you suggest any alternate stock with same business model.
Thank you

Q: Hello Peter,
With Xebec's bought deal at $5.80 per share with latest acquisition of Hygear, why are investors paying over $7 today? What am I missing? Would green renewables be a good bet given what is happening to Xebec? Also, why is Score dipping given the positive news on its outlook. Also, is good natured products a stock worth dipping into ? Thanks very much.

Q: Hi 5i,
I am looking for the best options for gaining CAD-denominated exposure to the major companies in the chips/semis space. What might be the best ETF options and what would be their proportion of exposure to that sub-sector? If not ETFs, might there be a more effective way of obtaining the desired exposure while staying in CAD? I’ll mention that I already have positions in PHO and STC, although obviously they are not quite the order of companies I’d be targeting with this question. Thanks!

Q: Mindbeacon is going public. Your view on the company please.
Q: Down 30% . Bought in September because of strong Real Estate market. Good financials of the company.
Reasons for market sell-off: My assumptions are that people are taking profits, some are selling into tax loss season and others over fear of the raging pandemic south of the border and what that might do to the US economy for the next year or so.
Finally there is perhaps, a few dollars of downside left to go including any chance for a Santa Clause rally before any chance of recovery.
What is your educated estimate of the situation and likely future scenario? Sorry for being long-winded. Stephen S

Q: XRE: I've held this one in my RRSP/RIF for 11 years; however, distribution has gone down as has unit price with CV19 and would like to replace with an ETF with a good distribution. Or should I keep?
Q: The TTD special meeting of stockholders has been adjourned to Dec 22, to allow the company additional time to solicit votes. Can you please provide context/advice as to how I should vote.
Q: Hello, my question is in regards to TLS. With the recent run up on many of the stocks in your recent TLS blog, what are your thoughts on TLS this month for someone with a lot of cash? Does this change any of candidates on your list, and top US picks? I noticed none mentioned. Much thx!
